All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. ~ 1 Peter 1:23

Humans are organic in that they live and develop, but also tend toward degeneration and death. (This is the result of sin. Not only has it led to the transiency of mankind [Romans 6:23], but also it has led to the "curse" on the earth and all living things. [See Genesis 3] ) As the Old Testament writers like to put it, man goes "the way of all the earth" (e.g., Joshua 23:14, 1 Kings 2:2). Thus, man has had both literal and figurative quests to discover the fountain of youth, to counteract "the way of all the earth."

The Creator, in effecting eternal life in Christ for His redeemed ones, solved this. He chose to meld uncreated life with created life. (Holy Spirit is eternal, so that is why redeemed ones will never "die": they have uncreated life in them. Uncreated life cannot die.) On the most basic level--your "spiritual DNA"--God has re-created you, so that "all things" have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15).

God's Word has a part in this. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away" (Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31). The Word is inorganic and is as eternal as Holy Spirit (John 1:1). The gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8), which we exercise, is sparked by God's Word (Romans 10:17).

In redemption, God began a brand new category of creation (Galatians 3:28).
