All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

MATTHEW 25:1-13

The Kingdom of Heaven is illustrated in this story.
Ten virgins prepared to meet the bridegroom.
They brought their lamps with them and patiently waited.
Perhaps, they sang beautiful Hebrew songs reflecting the Beloved.
Perhaps, they quietly danced on the hillside while they awaited His arrival.
Great anticipation engulfed their state of being.

When would He arrive? How would He arrive? We're all ready, or are we?

Upon anticipation, some of the virgins noticed their oil filled lamps were beginning to flicker.
Without much thought, in their hurriedness, five of the virgins failed to bring alongside enough oil to keep their lamps alight. Perhaps they felt the extra oil jar container was too heavy for them to carry along the way. Perhaps they thought the other kindhearted women would certainly allow them to borrow a portion of their prepared oil. Perhaps, they assumed the Beloved's arrival would be swift and more oil would not be required.

What ever the reason, the five foolish virgins would soon learn of their demise.
The amount, however small, would not be enough to keep their lamps alight till the Bridegroom arrived.
As the ten virgins awaited the arrival of the Bridegroom, tension filled the air.
The five foolish virgins whispered amongst themselves whilst their oil lamps continually flickered.
Soon, all the oil in their lamps would merely be consumed and the wicks flicker no more.
Darkness would be inevitable, for them.

As they all awaited, on the hillside, for the arrival of the Beloved, one of the women shouted,
"The Bridegroom is coming! The Bridegroom is coming! Quick, let us go out to meet Him!"

All ten virgins quickly aroused from their waiting place on the hillside, quickly running to meet the Beloved.
The five foolish virgins realized, then, their oil lamps had nearly flickered out.
They swiftly approached the other wise virgins.
Surely they would share the fresh oil from their clay jars. Surely, the wise virgins would realize their demise and feel sorrowful for their lack of preparation and foolishness. Surely they must have pity upon them , even though they knew they were now foolish for lack of preparation.

But not so.
The five wise virgins may have felt compassion and sorrow for the foolish virgins but could not offer any fresh oil, for they would need the oil themselves. The wise virgins had successfully prepared to meet the awaited Bridegroom. They were ready for His arrival, knowing He would be delighted, for they had successfully gathered enough fresh oil to replenish their lamps.

The five foolish virgins loudly whispered among themselves. They agreed the only way for them to replenish the oil for their lamps they would need to go into the villages and byways, seeking to purchase the oil needed to keep their lamps alight. So off they scrambled.

Where would they go first? Shall they all go together, or should they separate?

Mass confusion and disillusion enveloped their state of being.
They must hurry, for the Bridegroom arrives and they might not be allowed to enter inside the gate.
All five foolish virgins decide to separate, then come together at a particular landmark, then swiftly flee towards the area of the Beloved's destination.

No matter how fast they ran, no matter how much fresh oil they now carried, in the end, all their efforts were futile.
The foolish virgins were far too late!

The Beloved Bridegroom had arrived to gather those who successfully prepared for His arrival.
The wise virgins lamps still burned brightly as the Beloved delightfully allowed them entrance through the door.
As all five wise virgins were warmly welcomed, they all entered and the door was locked.
No others would be allowed entryway.

Distraught and in tears, the foolish virgins fiercely pounded upon the door where they knew the other virgins entered.
"LET US ENTER! LET US ENTER!"
"WE NOW, ARE WITH FRESH OIL."
"WE HAVE PURCHASED FRESH OIL,"
"LET US ENTER! LET US ENTER!"

But it was too late!
The Beloved Bridegroom had arrived. Only those who successfully prepared for His arrival, entered with warm welcome. All others were shut away!

STAY AWAKE AND BE PREPARED WITH FRESH OIL IN YOUR LAMPS.
YOU DO NOT KNOW THE TIME OF THE BELOVED BRIDEGROOMS RETURN.

What is the oil?

Fresh annointing of the Holy Spirit. Fresh understanding and discernment of the Word of God.
Fresh truth and fresh Holy Ghost enlightenment.
Fresh knowledge and preparation for the Beloved Bridegroom's return.

Who is the Beloved Bridegroom?

Jesus, of course.
He comes as a thief in the night, so be prepared for His arrival.
Only the Father knows when.
Only those who are equipped with vast preparation, will be delighted in His welcoming return.

What is the door?

Entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven
God's dwelling place.
Future residence of the Redeemed of the Lord

ARE YOU PREPARED!
IT WON'T BE LONG, NOW!

Loved this Pamela. My passion is the Bride of Christ, so much so, that I wrote a book about her. I am in the process now of editing it on a second draft for submission. Thanks for sharing this. This is actually a word for the hour. (Although we know not the hour. So like you said, be prepared.)
