"If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

That scripture came with my devotional today which I would like to share with you.

Father, in this quiet moment I seek the ultimate joy of life; I come simply to abide in Your presence. I would not interrupt what You have to say to me with chatter. I need YOU more than anything You can provide for me. Make me as ready to listen as I am to talk. You have created me for communion with You; I thank You for speaking to me in my soul.

Now I hear what You have to say to me; I am loved, forgiven, and cherished by You. You have plans for me: a personal will for me, given to me and no one else, a will You will reveal to me hour by hour, day by day. The deepest longing of my heart is to know You and serve You. Thank You for speaking to me in the Bible. through trusted friends, and in the confluence of circumstances. I open my mind and heart to receive You.....my Lord, Savior, Peace, and Power. Amen.

You know being in His Presence is one of the most beautiful thing you could ever do for yourself. When I had cancer I went to me sister's house and she has a beautiful yard with all kinds of flowere, and I would go and sit on a rock and talk to him, and worship him, and praise Him. When you are alone with him that is your intimancy with him. he loves it, and he loves on us, and sometimes he heals you, and that is what he did for me. My time with Jesus is my special time, and no one dares to interupt me at all. I use to say How can I get into God's Presence? I was a Catholic then going to hell real good, because I was not told the truth. I found out. You ask God to forgive you, then you start Praising Him, and turn it into worship. You do that until the Holy Spirit falls on you, and continue to praise and worship him, and then you be quiet Be still and know that he is God. This is what God wants from us all of the time. Bev anyplace where you can find peace, and no one to bother you. There is nothing quit like being in His Presence that's where I belong, and you too. Bev this is awesome Hon. Thank You so much sweetie.

Thanks for sharing.That is what He want us to live in seeking him and comes into His presence all the time.I recognise tha there doesn't have to be a best place to go to find God rather than here. I need to find the better place to take time with my God.

You are most welcome Charles!! It had the same effect on me. I have never actually "done it"....gone somewhere just me and Him. But I am going to start. It is vital I believe. I talk to Him and even just sit and listen sometimes but there is something to be said for what He did with Moses when the 10 Commandments were born. He called him way up on a mountain where it was just Himself and Moses. There has got to be something special about just being with Him alone with no distractions, surrounded by His beauty. I must find a place!!!

Thanks for sharing the devotional..That devotion just confirmed to me something that the Lord has been dealing with me about. That is that He wants us to come into His presence just for the sake of being with Him. Not to ask anything but to just enjoy His presence and just draw closer to Him.

I shared that last Tuesday with the people at the nursing home we go to . It just seemed to go along with the songs and the message the speaker gave that day. The Lord reminded me of the times we used to spend together far from the noise and confusion of life.

My quiet places have been a mountain in NC , an island on the Potomic River and a big pile of
boulders n Arlington. Places where I would go on a regular basis just to get alone with God. It's just that lately I've been neglecting that time and I believe that He is calling me back to it and that devotional just confirmed that.

I realize that there doesn't have to be a 'special ' place to go to find God it's just that the long walk it took to get to these places just made the time a little more special. I need to find another quiet place to be with Him. Those were special times and I really want to get back to them.

Thank again for the devotional . It's really got my day of to a good start.
