Jehovah vs Christians

One day I was talking to my friend and we got into it because I told her how I felt and what I researched about Jehovah Witnesses and she is one. To make matters worse she bought her mom to defend her so at that point her mom basically said I was going to hell because she said when God raise the people from the died some people I think would not get risen and she don't want to pass by my body and see I am one of them. She said there's only one God and she don't believe in Trinity and Jesus didn't die on a cross but they used a different word for what he died on. So even though I know the truth and tried to explain it to her she wouldn't listen. So why listen or explain anything to a deaf ear right? So I sat there quiet til my fiance was ready to leave. To this day I haven't spoken to my friend because by everything that happened I felt like David and her mom was Goliath, that shouldn't be if it was an A and B conversation you shouldn't bring C into it unless both parties agree right? I forgive her but think to settle everything down she should apologize because that was wrong. But one thing I did notice and did research on was Christmas and Easter. I believe in Easter and believe it to be true especially since I did the research using the bible and the internet but what about Christmas? Nobody knows when Jesus was born and it doesn't say in the bible. Then read Jeremiah 10:2-5 and tell me what you think also when you do research on the internet it shows a lot that Christians tried to convert pagan and replace the Saturnalia's pagan rites with christian ones also called syncretism. So if you know anything about this or have a reliable website or verse in the bible to reject this opinion please help me out and post it because I am a beginner trying to learn about God and searching for HIS truth and not a fool to believe any opinion.

I would like to help you , Amanda.
Ive had a great deal of time studying the scriptures.....and I can offer you some help....

I've had many encounters with Jehovah Witnesses.....and they love to back you in a corner and fire the questions and the answers your way......unless you have a good grasp of the Word....they will overpower you and you come away feeling angry and discouraged....they like to confront with another person or more....cause their is safety for them in numbers....
I have found the best thing to do is to remain calm and assertive....but calm....you are always safe sharing the ....good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ....sharing the scripture...and pnt out to them where the scripture is found....they love to sit down with you .....and they love to pray.....and they will politely wait for you to complete your prayer......so while you are in that state....share the good news of why Jesus came and who He came for and what He did on the cross........this is the best way for you to get a word in....without them bearing down on you so hard........it really works.....then just calmly remove yourself from the situation....if they try to attack you again....and believe that God will minister to them through the prayer.

Titus 1:9,10---be strong in the truth that you know....there will always be those who refuse to obey, especially those who tell you to do it this way and that way ......they are foolish....

Titus 2:11-15---the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.....share this
Isaiah 53........but who will believe this?......this is the prophecy of who Jesus is....what he did for you and me....why he did?...how he did?.....this is what you need to say ....it is the Old Testament.....and Jehovah Witnesses love the Old Test.

2nd Timothy 4:3.....there will always be those who won't listen to the truth.....they will only seek those who tell them just what they want to hear!

As far as the Paganism......ther is a good book and movie called "THE PAGAN CHRIST"
it show how the religious Catholic leaders ruled the community with wealth and power and needed to find a way to not include just normal people in the community sothey would not overpower them or protest...so they used their wealth and golden idols and golden jewlry to show their power.....and people were told they must bow to the religious leaders...they must not be shown how to pray to Jesus Himself...but find the only absolution coming to confess to a "superior" religious leader....pray to saints or Mother Mary (idols)....not Jesus....they wern't even told they could have a realationship with Jesus.....they wer not worthy of it....

So, this is how it all began, basically.......any idol worship, any astrology, divination, tarot cards, new age belief systems, are not of God........so many of these persons say that they can see God too!
They honestly believe that they can find another way to the God and will be accepted in the Kingdom of God in the end.....but the WORD clearly states:

John 10......anyone who tries to come through the gate another way....is a robber and a thief....there is only ONE WAY.....to the Father.....ONE TRUTH.....HE IS THE LIFE......the redemptive work of the cross, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the whippings He took on HIs body and the shed blood that was poured out was for us......there had to be a living sacrifice....there had to be a sacrificial lamb , like in Old Test.....that was given for atonement for our sin....cause this was the only way that imperfect man could have a relationship with a perfect GOD......blood had to be spilled.....that was the required sacrifice and the following of the law of MOses...the 10 commandments......but the Father and Son knew this form of identification and worship was not working out too well......
Jesus came to be the final sacrifice.....once and for all.......now we have full access to the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit.....

Hebrews 4:16....we can now come with boldness and confidence to meet with God....come before the throne of God to obtain mercy and grace in any time of need.

1st John 1:9....we can confess our sin to Him and He will forgive us of our sin....He is faithful and just


As far as Christmas....well...I think this is something between you and God....contrary to what some may tell you.......cause the Lord looks at the heart

....whatever and however you think.....that is what you are inside....
Matthew 6 : 22....if your eye is pure...your whole body is full of light....

another scripture....(not sure where?)....for the pure at heart...all things are pure...for the defiled...all things are defiled....

God looks at the heart....1st Samuel 16:7

So ....celebration is a good thing...it brings family and friends together...and you can celebrate in Christ....
"Jesus is still the reason for the season"
Celebrate.....in Jesus....the colorful lights all around are so beautiful!
They can signify ...."the Light of the World"....Jesus
Gifts...can represent..."the great GIFT of GOD"....eternal life

You can think of more meanings.....

As far as his birth...many scholars say it had to be in the late summer or early fall....cause this was when the census was done....Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem for this....and the shepherds and sheep were still grazing the land.....it would have been too cold in December...and the sheep would be in barns.....

Amanda, Who is the most important person in your life? Jesus is, I'm sure. He comes before your friends and anyone else. You probably won't change your friend just yet if she is still under her Mother's care, but you can live a life before her to make her want what you have. Yes, some Christian and pagan days got mixed together, but I don't worship pagan Gods, do you? I worship my Jesus. He doesn't throw a tantrum of which day we observe. He wants us to enjoy him everyday. So don't let Satan steal your joy over this. Go back to being the joyful Amanda that everyone knows. Leave those things that you cannot control in God's hands. He can handle it. Mary
