DON'T HIDE THE LIGHT

[ADVOCATE FOR JESUS]

In todays society there seems to be so much rush , rush and if the world seems crazy with stress and tension running rampant its because it is!
Since being blessed with the employment I prayed to God about over a month ago it has placed me right in the middle of all the craziness that is THIS WORLD at its pace of insanity.
Thanks God, I am getting a bird’s eye view!!!
I see ambition at its worst, I see greed take over the hearts of men and I see so many people running and just coping to keep up with their lives.
The worst part about all of this is the fact that this stress, anxiety and tension does not seem to help much in creating friendly human relations, in fact it rubs off from the first guy in the grocery line up who is having a bad day to the woman behind him who is getting impatient and irritated just listening to him.
Thank you Lord that I can come to You in Prayer before this world can make a dent in the peace, comfort and light that You have given me.
We all have that light in us to show to the world for the Glory of our Heavenly Father and what a waste it would be to hide that light when it can touch the lives of so many around us who need it.
Showing God's light has become such a powerful compulsion in my mind, heart and soul as I know it is for all of us with His Spirit inside.
When asked "What’s your secret to staying so uplifted even in the face of those who want to rip your smile right off of that same face?"
My response "JESUS, MY FRIEND!!!!" When they hear this the reaction varies from one person to the next but one thing that is common with each and every one of them is that it plants a seed , at least in their mind to start.
We are not completely immune in our day to day lives but we know the friend we have in Jesus and He is with us always to lift us back up again when and if we start to wilt.
We are kind of like flowers that way in that we need to stop and take a drink from the Cup of Living Water to refresh us once again.
Nobody can steal the joy that lives inside of us . That Joy is from God , the All Powerful and Almighty!!!
Nobody can snuff out the light. That light is God's light and He wants us to share it.


MATTHEW 5:14-16
14 YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A CITY ON A HILL CANNOT BE HIDDEN.
15 NEITHER DO PEOPLE LIGHT A LAMP AND PUT IT UNDER A BOWL. INSTEAD THEY PUT IT ON ITS STAND, AND IT GIVES LIGHT TO EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE.
16 IN THE SAME WAY,LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD DEEDS AND PRAISE YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.

So if darkness threatens to overcome you,
BLIND IT!!!!!

Amen!
A very good preacher once explained the following:
Jesus is the Son/Sun, sent to the world that He might shine while He was living among us on earth.
We are the Moon, sent to the world at nighttime. The world is indeed in very dark times. We have a very powerful light. The light is the Lord's. Like the moon, we don't have a light of our own, so the more in contact with the Son/Sun, the more we will shine in this world. (See John 12)
This reminds me of passages such as this:

Isaiah 60:1-4 "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.
Psalm 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
Psalm 119:105,130 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Ephesians 5:8-14 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
"Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you."
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

The Scripture is very clear as to our calling. So what are we waiting for?

THE GLORY OF THE SON
Jesus is the sole expression of the glory of God (the light being, the out raying or radiance of the divine) and he is the perfect imprint and very image of God's nature,upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by his mighty word of power (hebrews 1:3). the creator in all his glory and beauty, works among the stars and planets and in the life of every human born. he is at work in our lives infusing us with his word and his spirit to accomplish his eternal purpose and plan.
