All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

PLEASE NOTE; this is a re-blog from July 8, 2009 Please consider it a praise report...some things are worth repeating:

I have been at the Rescue Mission in Great Falls Montana for less than a day...I am already beginning to understand why God sent me here.

These are God's children that Society has discarded These souls have been broken, smashed burned and trashed by family, so called friends, even by established religious leaders.

I believe with a passion regarding personal responsibility...this INCLUDES our personal responsibility to give God's unconditional love (the greatest commandment next to loving God with our whole minds, hearts and souls).

The people I minister too here were severely damaged as young children...some from birth...some were alcohol by the age of 6 years.

When mom and dad are out partying for days at a time and the child is left at home alone with nothing in the fridge but alcohol...the child drinks to ease the pain.

At this young age the brain is still developing. The alcohol and drugs become part of the child's neurological chemistry.

These poor souls, as adults, even after decades of sobriety crave drugs and alcohol like everyone craves food and water.
They spend every waking moment of their lives fighting these cravings.

Couple that with the emotional pain that lays just under the surface and the fact that alcohol is an 'un-inhibitor" these folks often become monsters after just one drink. They relive the tortures of their youth.

Dear Mark
God bless you in your work at the mission ,my brother. I worked at a mission in DC for 2 years and these people truly are discarded , even by many churches . You will learn more dealing with these people than you could ever learn in a seminary, believe me I know this for a fact.. I thank you for letting God use you to help these people as there is not much genuine concern for the welfare of these people in the church or sometime in the mission itself. God bless you and may He teach you and use you in wonderful ways to show His love to them

May God Bless you and your ministry Mark. Stand strong with God's "full armor" . A prayer warrior doing this work must be close to Jesus at all times.
