Always Successful, Always the Greatest
Love never fails....But the greatest of these is love. ~ 1 Corinthians 13: 8,13

It is much easier to read books (or easier, listen to a speaker) explaining what the big word "love" means, what the many types of love are (even dissecting its various forms and identifying them with the Greek words), what beautiful and sentimental things have been said about it, and what about it makes us "feel" good.
However, when we see what God throughout the Bible DID, what Jesus in His earthly walk DID, what the sold-out-to-Jesus disciples DID....then we may shrink from this notion of love. It is not sentimental. It is oh-so practical. It can be painful, at times. It is sacrificial. It is selfless, spending itself fully for the object of its love. Still, it is only this type of love that "never fails" and is the "greatest."
