Houses of Prayer

My prayer is that this year will be the year that I am organized.

Recently we have felt led to begin houses of prayer throughout Calgary. These houses of prayer are a beginning point for many people coming out of the traditional church. I am sending you some of the information that I will also be sending to our house churches. This might be where you will want to begin. Let me know what you think.

Getting Started (House of Prayer)

Praying for our neighbours. Caring for our neighbours. Sharing with our neighbours.

Either on your own or with two or more other people tell God that you are committed to being a praying neighbour. Make the following commitment prayer:

"God, I know that my neighbours matter very much to you and that you have commanded me to make ‘requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving’ for them. So, out of obedience to you and out of love for my neighbours, I commit myself to ask for your blessings for them for five minutes a day, five days a week, for the next five weeks. I’ll do this, with your help, to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Decide whom you will pray for and whom you will pray with.
