FINDING AND EXERCISING FAITH
Witnessing God’s miracles at work is payment enough for this mortal coil. Spiritual Warfare puts God's servants in the front row of seeing what many people regard as “supernatural” occurrences. (Luke 1:22, Luke 24:23, 2nd Cor. 12:1).
There are many misconceptions regarding Faith and Prayer…and because Faith and Prayer go hand in hand it is important to recognize how the two are intertwined. The two are mutually inclusive and equally important in finding God’s Will…and it is only by walking in God’s Will can we be used by Him as faithful servants. (John 3:16) Notice John 3:16 says those exercising faith in Him will find eternal life. The word exercise is a verb…an action word that implies work. We have to have both faith and works to walk in God’s Will. Faith is like a muscle that has to be exercised in order to be strengthened. Conversely…like a muscle if it is not exercised it will atrophy…it will whither.
At one point the disciples asked Jesus to “give” us more Faith. Jesus was not pleased and in His own way admonished them and compared their faith to less than the size of a mustard seed. It is obvious that if God were to simply give us faith there would be no such thing as free will. We would be a bunch of pre-programmed, mind numb robots…that would not be very fulfilling for God or for us. The entire point of our salvation and eternal life is to serve God willingly and faithfully in spite of the storms in life.
Any sailor can be a sailor under ideal conditions…a sailor can only learn superb skills by navigating through the worst storms. Just ask Peter…he could walk on water as long as he had his eyes fixed on Christ…but when the winds came up and the sea swelled he became distracted by circumstances…he lost Faith and began to sink.(James 2:26, Romans 10:9, Galatians 3:8-11, 1st Timothy 6:12, Heb. 11:6, Heb. 12:12, 1st Peter 1:7,)
We have to exercise prayer through Jesus’ Authority to get to know Father God and His Will. (2nd Chronicles 7:14, 1st Timothy 5:17).
It really is that simple. Through Jesus we approach Father God…the ultimate parent Who dispatches the Holy Spirit here on Earth and intercessors on our behalf…if our prayers are to His Glory and according to His Will. (Prov. 15:29, Ro. 12:12, Col. 4:12, Mat. 6:9).
FAITH
Faith is not a place to go
It’s a place to be
A peaceful feeling from within
Awareness lets you see
In the very darkest times
When faith is all you have
Faith will carry you along
Turn tears into a laugh
Allow you to affect your world
Overwhelm it if you must
Overtaking obstacles
Turning them to dust
An inner strength you carry
A wisdom that you learn
Give time and faith the power
Adversities will turn
If your thoughts are noble
And regal steps you take
Power comes in purest form
When everything’s at stake
The faith you carry in troubled times
Shows who you are
True colors shine with troubles near
Faith your guiding star
A pure heart cannot be destroyed
Honest men don’t cringe
Boldly give your very best
On that futures hinge
Life is not a mystery
Problems all are solved
If your faith is strong enough
Adversities dissolve
Blessings always follow faith
It’s your dearest friend
Truth always finds its mark
Beneficial in the end
I’m a man who’s seen it work
Tasted all of life
Known the very best of it
Anguished in its strife
The only times life conquered me
Were when my faith was weak
I chose to loose the awesome strength
Faith brings when faith I seek
The best of times were the ones
When faith its fruit did bear
Abandoned not in my heart
God’s miracles were there
