PRAYER REQUEST…GENTLENESS AND RESPECT

Brothers Ches and Brian have been saved men for many years. Both are in their mid 50’s. Prior to coming to Christ they were lost and damaged souls. Today they feel the Glory and comfort and love of God. Brother Brian suffers from diabetes…Brother Ches suffers from degenerative disc disease and peripheral artery disease…please pray for them.

During our many prayerful conversations they have witnessed to other men at the Great Falls Montana Rescue mission…by example…because the other men recognize them, and others, as their peers…men who have gone through the fires in life and emerged on the other side through God’s grace and glory.

I am merely a catalyst for these prayerful conversations because the men recognize me as a minister…so that they who are saved come to me for conversation about God and this creates a cascade affect for the others who are not saved.

In the beginning of this phase of ministry I prayed and prayed for God’s inspiration on how to undue the damage and false teachings implanted in these broken souls.

The last thing these damaged souls need is another Bible thumping preacher coming in here to convict and damn them. Jesus’ message and God’s message is one of love and salvation. If God wants them to feel convicted then that is His job…not mine or any other minister’s. Our job is to teach about the opportunity of salvation through Christ and to get to know God through His Word.

If someone comes to me because of their convictions I listen, pray, encourage and direct them to pray…both individual prayer and corporate prayer. The only way we can know God’s will is to ask Him and become familiar with the feeling of the Holy Spirit inside our minds, hearts and souls.

How and where do we let God’s light shine? (New International Version)

(A) Unceasingly…all the time!!! (Isaiah 62:6…for context read the entire chapter.)
(B) Everywhere…before men…especially in the home…because all of society radiates out from the home. This is why the enemy loves to attack the family unit. (Mat. 5:14-16, Mark 5:18)
(C) From Whom and by Who’s authority is this light revealed to us? Jesus is the light of the world. (John 8:12, 2 Corinth. 4:5-6, First John, 1st Chapter). It is by the Authority of the Holy Spirit that God’s power allows us to be witnesses of His. (Acts 1:8 )
(D) We are to declare God’s word without shame or fear. (2 Timothy 1:8).
(E) We are to be constantly prepared and eager, with courage and confidence to do God’s work…letting His light shine…with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:13-16).
What does this all have to do with Brothers Ches and Brian and others like them? It has to do with gentleness and respect. This is the greatest tool God has shown me in order to reach broken souls who have been damaged since childhood to hate God.

This blog began as a PRAYER REQUEST for brothers Ches and Brian. It ended up as a reminder that God uses us all as members of the Body of Christ. We are a team…and each member is like a molecule of His Body….and His work is to ALWAYS be done with GENTLENESS and RESPECT.

Dear God how many times i failed in gentleness specially with my own family and how many times i failed to show respect. Im glad it was brought up, as it made me realise my attitude towards others.
