" Any Other day"
Christmas shouldn't be much different than any other day
We should think about the Savior as we go along our way
If you gave your heart to Jesus to have and to hold
If you told Him that your heart is truly His to mold
Then Christmas shouldn't be much different a day to celebrate
Than the ordinary days we'll bring to heavens gate
So lets all try to live each day as God would have us do
With peaceful hearts and hopeful minds let's lead each other through
And if we ask God…

I'd like to share this story.
Elvis is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood. Whenever asked how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!” He was a natural motivator.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Elvis and asked him, “I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?”
Elvis replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can cho…

(Inspired by Mike Murdock’s book, ‘The 3 Most Important Things in Your Life)
The Holy Spirit is the Source of Joy. His Presence brings joy. His fruit is joy. His Wisdom increases our joy. He is the Spirit of Wisdom. The pursuit of money, or having it does not produce joy. We cannot depend on our loved ones to create an atmosphere of happiness.
There are five misconceptions about joy. Many think joy comes from people, promotion, progress, power or possessions. The wise person discovers the trut…

Nearly everyone has a distorted self-image. We are typically our own worst judges not only of our physical appearance, but also of our character and personality. No matter how much we look at ourselves in the mirror and consider our impressions on others, we cannot see ourselves as others really see us. Mostly, I attribute this to a sort of spiritual blindness.
And our only accurate self-image should be how God our Father sees us.
When we look at ourselves in a mirror, though we may be able to…

Man, that sounds like paradise!! Who in our society wouldn't want that?
David uses this phrase in Psalm 16:11 ...
"You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

We can see here that God is not a kill-jo…

There's no doubt in my mind that God wants those of us who are His chosen children to live in joy always. Not happiness necessarily, but joy always.
Happiness is merely a fleeting feeling dependent upon our circumstances, but joy is a possible condition of the heart
regardless of circumstances. How else could the Apostles have sung praises to the Lord while being tortured and murdered?
Jesus died to make it possibe for us to have the kind of intimate relationship with God our Father tha…

(I was needing somewhere to put some quotable quotes, so I'll use this blog post, and keep adding to it.)
Here's the first one....
It was said in 1904, at the time of the Welsh revival:
"Life with exuberance is to be preferred over death with composure." Continue

Echoes of Joy
By Darlene Hight
Joyous melody stood, barely able to breathe as the Conductor moved closer.
"Is it my turn?", he asked in a whisper.
"Not yet." the Conductor answered "Your time will come and it will be glorious, well worth the wait."
Tears stung Joyous Melody's eyes as crushing disappointment entered his spirit.
I can't bare the wait. What good is a song that can't be expressed? Music shouldn't have to wait. Should it? When? When will it be my time?
Years past and…
