Growing closer to God

My story with God

I was raised in the Friends church with my dad as the pastor for most of my life. There have been times in my past that I felt very close to God, but that was when I was much younger and now, life has handed me a bunch of lemons and I am tired of lemonaide. So it has been a very long time since I have felt that closeness. And am now wondering about the truth of it all.
And now, thankful for all the many prayers and support, I am on my way to where I need to be. One step at a time.

Other stuff about me:

I am 44 years old, Married for twenty two years now with a step daughter and a daughter of my own. My wife and daughters are my hero's. In 2000 I was diagnosed with Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia. It is a very rare neurological disorder that is robbing me of the use of my legs. Therefore, no longer able to do the things that I love. But some how, I continue to get up each morning and try to find some purpose in this life of mine.

The Battle

Thanks for keeping an eye out. Sorry for not being around for a while. I've been doing a lot of school work. I have 4 papers due in two weeks and have been studying and planing for next semester also. My biblical studies have overwhelmed me, but Jesus is prospering it. I've come a long way in biblical studies. I'm seeking to be a university biblical Dr./teacher/scholar under archaeology, history, and translation expert.
