- I received the Lord in August of 1976 in a small church in Florida. I have since lived in various parts of the country and have been involved in many different types of ministry. I grew up in a home where my mother at least tried to get us to church but my brother , sisters and I weren't too interested. God had to get me 1000 miles from my friends and family to finally get my attention. God is good.

What if this was your last day?
About a month or so ago the Paastor of my church asked me to prepare a message( for lack of a better word) for a Thursday night service in July. I presented what the Lord has been dealing with me about last Thursday night.

What's a friend?
An old proverb states that " Friends are those who relate so closely to each other that when one cries the others tastes salt" .
When I first came across this proverb I was confused as to what it could possibly mean. Then it occurred to me , as it should to anyone who is a friend or parent.
When a child is hurt while playing roughly or being clumsy or just had their feelings hurt. they will come to us wanting to be held and comforted. They want someone to ' make it all better'. Then , inevitab… Continue

"I will never leave you or forsake you "..... ( uh ,oh !)
So many times we have sought and found comfort in this precious promise that the Lord left for us.It' is one of the most precious promises he gave.

Is good also to know u may be moving back to NC as I am sensing that is where u would rather be. Nothing much better than living where u love to be. Am glad things are looking up for u.
All is well here; Jerry and are are enjoying life and occasional :-)) visits from the kids and grandkids. God is so good to us and I thank Him for everything.
Being ur friend is easy; ur a good person and God put us together; how could one go wrong there?

Closure is good and if the results are favorable then is even better.
I am happy to hear u'll be visiting family and as far as the "when will I learn" part you have no monopoly on that. He reminds me daily that is a good thing He is in charge and not me.
I pray for you safety and that time will fly by in ur traveling. I pray your words, His message will be received with open hearts and that you will have many more times and opportunities to spend with family.

- I will certainly pray for you my friend. I pray you will find what you seek and be revived with a newness of heart and of spirit. I pray God will comfort you and shower you with His peace giving you an awareness of His closeness. I pray you will have open ears to hear Him with all clarity and that you will follow His lead.

- Hey friend, is good to hear from you and know that you are doing well. You know, if you ever need an ear I am here. Life is easier when there is someone to listen and pray for and with us.
A trip to the (your) mountains sounds wonderful. My sister (lives in Boynton Beach) is supposed to come up and go there with me but so far has not been able to. I hope you get to go soon.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I will thank my pastor for you. I, too, thought it about time someone spoke up. It's not easy taking a stand for modesty even in the church these days. The church we used to attend (and don't any longer for various but obvious reasons) had a serious problem with this issue. The leadership did nothing.
Keep speaking out for truth, sir. We much appreciate it.

Thank you for the comments. Anyone who is a lover of Tozer is a brother of mine. Do you have a copy of a book called "Tozer on Christian Leadership"? You can order it online. It is a compilation of writings around themes, assimulated into daily devotionals for each month. I recommend it to anyone, regardless of whether you are a leader or not.
Yes, indeed, Brother Washer is of the same Spirit, beloved. How privileged we are to simply sit down at a computer, link up, and enjoy by video the ministry of Paul Washer, or by audio, the ministry of Brother Tozer.
I'm not sure if you are familiar with a site called www.sermonidex.net. There you can find audios and videos of some of the greats, including the two brothers mentioned above. Wilkerson, Ravenhill, Katz, and so many others are there, as well as printed texts of those who blessed us before the techy age.
