- I came to Christ 1 year ago. It has been the best year of my life. I was raised Anglican and went to church with my parents but after I got married, strayed away. I have always felt that I lived a Christian life, I treated people with respect and did not cheat anyone, and believed in God, but that's as far as it went.
After a terrible 2007, I went to see a Christmas production at a local church. On the program was a tear-off section for an introduction to the Alpha course. It mentioned things like what is the meaning of life and why are we here. This spoke to me and I signed up for the course that night. On the 3rd night, Nicky Gumbel, the course facilitator (on video) said "if you want Jesus in your life, just ask Him." I had been praying for help from my nose-dive situation (lost relationship, losing my job and a lot of money in a bad investment, and an uninsured fire at a friend's house where I had all my guitars, amps, etc). I prayed and asked Jesus to come into my life. The very next Sunday, I received the Lord Feb 17, 2008 in a powerful, emotional, life changing experience. I now know the meaning to be born again and will never turn away from Jesus.
