Many places in the world are Christians are expearencing personal revival.
but many of us are like dry, hard ground and we need the Holy Spirit by the word of God to dig up those hard places so we can recieve the waters of the rivers of life. God uses the preaching of his word to do this.
I want my heart to be tender and receptive to all God has for me.
What are some of the things that cause our hearts to become hard dry places?
Jack you said in one of your writings that when some one is touch by God they are changed forever.
I remember the day 4 years after I was saved I was in a praise service and I got desperate for God. He touched me 4 years earlier and I knew it then, but it was like the apostles, I needed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. I remember that night like it was yesterday and it was 29 years ago. I told the Lord that I was sick of being a luke warm Christian, I was sick of hanging on to sin in my life, I was sick of my backslidden heart.
I saw my wife deliver all 3 of my children and it was like that in my soul. Even though I came from a very legalistic fundamentalist church I experienced the power of God like an explosion in my soul and was set free that night from drugs, alcohol, and smoking. I had touched the hem of his garment and I was set free indeed.

Jack if everyone could just understand the profound thing that you are saying, that it is in the presence of the Lord that we are tranceformed into his image I remember a time when I was in a worship service and I was drawn into the presence of the Lord, We were singing Iexalt thee, I was completely amazed how the Holy Spirit drew near to us and gave a refreshing to us all. God can do great thing in our lives as we draw near to Him and He willHe draws near to us.
Personal revival originate in the heart of a believer that that has taken God out of the box of thier preconceived ideas of who He is. How Great is our God? Name above all names worthy of our praise.
Face it; living in a fallen world causes us to develop hard hearts.
Betrayal, broken promises, hardship, loss, failure, etc, all kinds of thing that happen can cause us to become bitter and develop hard hearts. The scripture tells us to break up
the hard place of our heart. This is done with forgiveness, repentance, and with the Help of the Holy Spirit who will help you to uncover those hard places in our hearts.
We need renewal in our personal lives! Allow the anointing of the Holy Spirit break up the hardness of heart that comes by compromise. The above message is a powerful, message and wake up call. for the church and each of us.
I was talking to a friend on the net this morning and was touch with the thought that we are the salt of the Earth and the light of the world. I love what Jack shared; I am a true believer that revival starts in the very heart of the one seeking it and causes a great search for getting closer to God. When that happens the one it starts in cannot help but spread it to others who are searching for a closer relationship with God.
This is how we reach the world for Christ by sharing our relationship that we have with the Lord with them. But if we are not in a close relationship with God and our lives have been cluttered with sinful actions and attitudes, how will others see the Lord in our lives?
I recently spoke at a mens breakfast about the importance of being in the presence of the Lord. I am changed in the presence of a mighty God. Every time I draw near to him, He draws near to me. The more hunger I have for the things of God , the hungrier I get. It is the place where real change takes place.

I believe we can be over taken with the cares of this life and get so caught in what this world has to offer that we neglect our relationship with Jesus. We slack off on prayer the word and fellowship with believers because we become bound to our debts and circomstanes.
Jb I really like how you put it; we become bound to our debts and circomstanes.
The things of this life some how overcome us like a load of debt. This is why it has to be day to walk allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us. As Christians we will never know the victory that the Word of God promices unless we learn to take one day at a time. After all none of know how many more days are ahead of us, so we live each day as if it were our last. Of cource we make plans and look to the future, but our future is in the hands of the Lord.
