> This video portrays the situation occurring on a regular basis in the Mexican states where there are Indian communities, especially in Chiapas, Oaxaca, Michoacan, Hidalgo...We have worked with the legal defenders who appear in this video...Esdras Alonso and Abdias Jaimee. We will be doing a seminary with leaders and pastors from the San Cristobal highlands groups and the annual Blessings fiesta for the children of those leaders who suffer for their faith in Christ. This video and it's song have special meaning to me because of them, and I'm thankful for Cereal on Godtube who put it together.

Please relate to the theme in particular: Am I my brothers' keeper?
Please keep your comments to the point and allow for a give and take discussion between members of the group. Long Comments should be set aside in a discussion and monitored/reviewed now and then to put up new information. Thankyou for your understanding.

Christians brave horrifying massacres
Victims pledge to persevere as mobs rape, maim, burn faithful

Despite brutal and horrifying persecution that has left countless dead and an estimated 50,000 homeless, Christians in India's Orissa state are determined that God will have the victory in their violence-torn homeland.
Since the assassination of anti-Christian Hindu leader Swami Laxamanananda Saraswat on Aug. 22, mobs of Hindu fanatics that blame Christians for the leader's death have been roving the Orissa state on the eastern shore of India, torching churches and homes, brutalizing Christians and burning the bodies of those they kill.
Reports from missions organization Gospel for Asia (GFA), however, tell of courage and determination in the face of violence.
One story reported on Christian Newswire told of a missionary beaten multiple times by a Hindu mob demanding he leave a village where he had been working.
"Even if you kill me, I will not make a vow that I will never come back," the missionary is reported to have answered. "That depends not on me but on the Lord. If he wants to send me here, then I will come," he told his attackers.
Simon John, a GFA regional leader in India, said, "Christians will stand together in this nation, in love and to lift up the people, even if persecution or death comes. We will not stop doing good for the people."
Persecution and death, however, have come, and they have come by horrifying means. United Kingdom newspaper The Times reports several cases of brutality over the last two weeks alone: a nun was gang-raped; a worker at a church-run orphanage was burned alive; and a woman seven months pregnant was cut to pieces along with her one-year-old son when she refused to denounce Christianity and convert to Hinduism.
Ravindra Nath Prahan, 45, told the Times he and 113 others, warned by a text message, fled to the jungle, living off rainwater and foraging food for a week. His paralyzed brother, however, couldn't take to flight.
"They doused him with petrol and taunted him; we could hear him screaming," Prahan told The Times. His brother was burned alive.
"I could have tried to save him. But we had to save ourselves," Prahan said.
An estimated 50,000 Christians have been forced to run for their lives, while the Hindu radicals have torched more than 3,000 homes and over 100 churches. The Vatican records 36 deaths, but warns an accurate account is impossible since the mobs are burning their victims.
Orissa made headlines last Christmas when 95 churches were razed and at least five people were murdered, The Times reports, but the current massacre reflects the country's worst persecution of Christians since gaining its independence in 1947.
"It's a national shame," India's prime minister, Manmohan Singh, has reportedly said.
As WND reported earlier, the Indian Supreme Court last week ordered additional police forces into the Kandhamal district, the worst region of violence, and also ordered state officials in Orissa to do more to protect Christians. Reports had come from the region that the police were permitting the attacks.
Citizens have petitioned India's president and rallied in the country's capital city to seek a stop to the violence.
GFA reports, however, that even though 24 of their missionaries have been attacked and 27 GFA-related churches have been destroyed, the Indian Christians still believe God will have victory.
"The encouraging thing is that the attackers themselves acknowledge that Orissa used to be only 2 percent Christian, and now it's 28 percent Christian," reports Juria Bardhan, GFA's state leader in Orissa. Pointing to Christianity's historical growth during times of persecution and the dramatic rise of Christianity among India's lowest, despised caste of people, Juria added, "They don't understand that by doing this, the church will grow by leaps and bounds, and this will cause thousands to come to Christ."

Thankyou for posting this...please feel free to make this a group effort. So I ask the same old question, what should we do about this? What is there that we could do? Let's make this a discussion on activism...with your input...

Muslim father burns Christian daughter alive
Man slices out girl's tongue, ignites her after 'heated debate on religion'

A Muslim father cut out his daughter's tongue and lit her on fire upon learning that she had become a Christian.
The child became curious about Jesus Christ after she read Christian material online, the Gulf News reported.
Her father read her Internet conversation, detached her tongue and burned her to death "following a heated debate on religion," according to an International Christian Concern report.
The Muslim man lives in Saudi Arabia and is employed by the muwateen, or Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. The muwateen are police tasked by the government with enforcing religious purity. The man has been taken into custody, and his identity has not been released.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia's school curriculums and teachers deliberately instill hatred toward Christians and followers of non-Muslim religions.
The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a press release stating that textbooks at the Saudi Arabian government school in Northern Virginia teach, "It is permissible for a Muslim to kill an apostate (a convert from Islam)."
The ICC claims Saudi Arabian authorities have begun exporting Wahabbism – a version of Islam that is said to be least tolerant toward non-Muslims – to other nations including the U.S.
Saudi oil money is said to be used to encourage countries such as Ethiopia and Indonesia to kill Christians and destroy their possessions.
ICC president Jeff King said, "Saudi Arabia has to treat Christians with the same respect that it wants Muslims to be treated in other countries. It has to stop exporting hate and persecution against Christians in other countries."

Lord I raise up before you Mexico with all it's necesities, and for it's people who need You so much. Lord let there be a consciousness on the government's part of it's responsability for it's own citizens...instead of welcoming the massive fleeing of it's people to another land because they can not survive and care for their families in their own. Let it feel a burden for the men, and women who leave their families behind and for years work sacrificing so that their families can live a better life. May the Mexican government feel a sense of guilt for encouraging it's people to become illegal aliens because their own country hasn't the will to do everything possible to make it worthwhile for them to stay at home. Give the Mexican President Calderon wisdom and guidance in how to deal with the massive threat of internal corruption and terrorism from the many drug cartels that have become a major parasite on society and influenced the lives of us all, by it's violence, corruption, and value destroying power. Unite the Body of Christ so that it may indeed be light and salt in a dark and idolatrous world, and stand up for justice and holiness in Jesus name. And let those who suffer persecution for Jesus' name sake, feel your loving presence in the midst of their trials, knowing that you will not abandon them. In Jesus name.

This is an excellent video report from the United Kingdom office of Voice of the Martyrs, with contributions made by the USA; Canada, Compass Direct, China Aid, and CBN/CWN... with who we have the pleasure of meeting and working... Nice team work, and includes us for whom the report was made, inviting us to take part in the ministry... Thankyou for adding it...

Posting part of Alan's response to a discussion here for your consideration:

"As the messianic rank of Jesus was proved by his words, his deeds, and his death, the narrative of the sayings, deeds, and death of Jesus Christ came to be called the gospel or glad tidings (Taken from the blue letter bible)...& is the begining of all the plans of the other kingdom. When we venture away from the mandate of our King and begin to teach things other than the establishment of the Kingdom of God there is an opening for deception. That opening allows compromise of the believer. The people of God who carry out the commands of the King walk in freedom and only in that freedom is the church able to live and prosper. That freedom is not dependant on political atmosphere but on the unencumbered activities of Jesus and His word in the heart and mind of the people of God."

Dear Brother Bob, you are a huge blessing...I'm just getting going here, and you have relatonships established already...I will be checking out and paying attention to the other groups where I think we meet, and I appreciate your input here. I notice a large number of pastors on God.net from India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya...all of whom are facing many similar difficulties, not the least of which is probably funding...Praise God for the work being done in each area mentioned here, and the leaders and their families who are willing to risk their lives to reach out and touch the lost. And may the Lord use each one to win for Christ those who oppose the gospel, and those who lovingly bring and preach it to them....In Jesus name.
