Hi Sheygladys,
We all suffer because we are human, suffering and dying are a result of sin which goes back to the beginning of time. God doesn't enjoy seeing us suffer but allows it for a variety of different reasons. Sometimes we are brought to the brink and back to show God's Glory to others. God teaches us the 'valuable lessons' that we need to learn through suffering, the best equipped people to help other is someone who 'has been there', which is a blessing. What the enemy means for our harm, God means for our good...God turns our suffering into strength and patience. (Philip. 4:13) "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Christians struggle greatly because there's a battle over souls on earth, but the enemy is only allowed to tempt, WE have control of ourselves not him.
In my life there has been a 'seed' in every test, trial, or suffering. I don't believe there is any suffering in vain...it all has it's purpose...staying In Christ, every seed can be planted and flourish. God takes our messes and turns them into a masterpiece!
In Christ,
Debbie
God uses trials in the believer's life for several reasons. They purify us (Malachi 3:3-4, 1 Pet 1:6-9. Psa 66:10) by making us rely more on God and His grace. James tells us trials increase our patience (James 1:3,4,12) and God uses them to glorify Himself (1Pet 4:12-16). Paul sums it up well when he states "my strength [in trusting and drawing closer to God] is made perfect in weakness" (Gal 12:9). The non-believer suffers to despair (Gal 6:7-8). He has no hope and no assurance that he will be delivered out of these trials.
Because God sees the end from the beginning, He knows where we're weak and where we need refining. Suffering is like a refiner's fire: burning away all the impurities and leaving only that which is profitable. We will be rewarded for our sufferings (Matt 5:10-12) and in them we can comfort others who are going through the same difficulties. Remember, Jesus suffered more than any man, but to the greater glory. In His sufferings, he made the way for us to be reconciled to God. If in our sufferings we can lead others to Christ, then we should suffer joyfully. Remember: "the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us"(Rom 8:18).
I AM GOING THROUGH SOME SUFFERING RIGHT NOW AND IT DOES NOT FEEL GOOD TO MY FLESH, HOWEVER, IT IS ALL FOR MY GOOD. BECAUSE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS PAIN IS SOMETHING OH SO MUCH BETTER THAN I HAD BEFORE IN JESUS NAME. I HAVE CUT THE ROPE AND I AM TRUSTING THE LORD WITH ALL MY HEART.
Both of you have made excellant points . I most heartily agree that sufferings are for refinning us. There are many harmful things we won't let go of until God brings a trial to show us these things are a hinderance to our relationship to Him. I have found that things God reveals through suffering trials are
some of my greatest blessings both to me and others.
I'm thankful that even as Jesus told us we would have trials in the world that HE had overcome the world and that we could be of go cheer in spite of them.
In His service
Surely and yes, it is just but normal for all the children of God to suffer because HE allows it for some purpose and only to some extent this is because HE loves us and only thru sufferings and pains we can be strengtened,we can be better equipped both physical and emotional, only thru this kind of refining we can be prepare to face the wordly battle and with GOD on our side there is always victory.
the bible says that unforseen occurance will befall us all it is up to us to withstand our test cause it is all for the good as long as we continue to put our faith in god and stand firm in the belife that he will save us as he has done so many times before. Daily bible reading will show u how throug out history christians have suffered we live in a broken world mainly due to the disobedience of Adam and Eve. sin entered in to the world and with it may promblems. They decided for us that they didn;t need god and refused to obey his word now we have to prove them wrong and untill the appointed time comes when he will reing over us again we will all suffer. the just and the unjust but he gives us comfort in his word the bible.
