All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Think About It: Has a visitor every helped you or your family? How?

1. Read Genesis Chapter 19. Compare Abraham’s and Lot’s treatment of the visitors. (See Genesis 18:1-8 and 19:1-3).

2. What happened at Lot’s house one night? What else? (See Genesis 19:4-14).

3. How did God view Lot in spite of his sins? (See Genesis 18:23, 32; 19:12-13, 16-17; and 2 Peter 2:7).

4. How did the angels help Lot and his family? (See Genesis 19:9-22).

5. What happened to Sodom, Gomorrah, and Lot’s wife? (See Genesis 19:23-26).

6. What can we learn from Lot’s wife being turned into salt? (See Luke 9:57-62; 17:22-37).

7. What was the result of Abraham’s prayers? (See Genesis 19:27-29).

8. What happened to Lot and his family after leaving Sodom? (See Genesis 19:30-38).

9. The leaders sat in the city gates to decide important matters. Where was Lot in each of the following texts: Genesis 13:11-13; 14:11-12; 19:1?

10. A common human experience is as follows: First we associate with people who sin. Then we participate in sin. Finally we develop sinful habits that become increasingly harder to break. What can we learn from Abraham’s and Lot’s lives that might help us avoid sin?

11. What does Romans 12:1-2 say that might help us overcome sinful habits? How do you think we do that?
