My wife has had an affair and so have three other women that are in our circle of friends. PLease pray for fidelity in the marriage. My wife has promised to stop but she can't. She is claiming it is a spiritual attack. I have caught her three times being unfaithful. At first I believe God instructed me to forgive now I am unsure. I can forgive but I can't keep getting hit by the same train. I need prayer nad so does my wife. thank you
Dear friend I want you to know that my heart goes out to you. We never get married to someone, imagining stuff like this happening to us.
Your wife falling into adultery has a lot more to do with the flesh than with attacks of the enemy. The Law of Moses made it clear that adultery is sin.
God does not condemn people for demon affliction, but for sin.
In 1John 2:4 it says, that those who say they know the Lord and do not keep his commandments are liars and the truth is not in them. I am not talking about making a mistake, but it is pretty hard to make a mistake of adultery over and over. God loves your wife so much and desires her to come to him and repent.
The woman caught in the act of adultery in the Bible was spared because of mercy, but Jesus told her to go and sin no more unless something worse would happen to her. Nothing was said about demons, just to stop the sinful behavior.
Hi Brother,
I too want prayer for Christian Marriage. But my wife is not unfaithful! In my first marriage, my wife was! I see Christian marrige as very blessed in that Jesus gives the picture of the Church using Christian marrige (Ephesians). I pray for you, that God will strengthen and heal your marriage. Both in the UK and America we see a decay in Christian marriages, and I think it is time Christians started praying for one anothers marriages.
I believe that it is both ways - giving into the flesh and spiritual attack. The Bible says that lawlessness will grow, but thank God that His children will grow stronger too. A Christian marriage is very blessed of God. Therefore it is the duty of Satan and his cohorts to do all within their power to trample and tear down. But ponder this thought:
A dear sweet lady was sitting in her assigned seat on the jet that would take her to a long awaited vacation. She had spent the last several years in setting up missionary stations in some of the far most places. She was thrilled to be traveling back to her hometown to share with her church the great works of God. Meal time came around and she ordered from the stewardess. The lady next to her did not order stating that she was praying and fasting. The missionary lady looked at the lady next to her and said, “Oh, I’m a Christian too. I have prayed and fasted many times in my missionary work for the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
The lady next to her looked at her with such indignation and said, “I am not a Christian. I worship Satan. I have been given an assignment to pray and fast by our church. I am praying for the destruction of families and the downfall of those ministers which are actively pursuing the spread of Jesus.”
With the decline of marriage in the USA; the breaking down of families; it appears that we have not been diligent in our praying.
Colin my heart goes out to you,my own marriage disintegrated because of adultery,it can be very difficult to forgive those that hurt us in this way.If I were you I go on a fast and seek God,s guidance as to what you should do next.Adultery is a sin, when this happens the marriage ultimately breaks down because there is no trust.Seek God dilligently and he will respond.I wil pray for you that your situation will be resolved.
