Begin Your Walk with Jesus!

Your relationship with God is like a going on a long journey with Him. Many start off well but don't realize they need to keep going in order to reach their destination. If you do the following, your relationship with God will deepen and you will experience the joy of knowing him better and growing into maturity.

* Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible. You may also want to join the The Master's Miracle Grow group and follow the instructions there.

* Be baptized as Jesus commanded and obey what He tells you in His Word (Matthew 28:18-20).

* Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.

* Seek friendships with other Christians. It's critical for a growing believer to network with others who have been walking with Jesus for a long time.

This is called Christian fellowship. Develop a group of Christian friends to answer your questions and support you. That's the whole purpose of AllAboutGOD.net!

If you do these four things you'll keep growing and finish the race well!

Here are some helpful links to study. Take some time to read a little every day:

www.AllAboutGOD.com has more than 17,000 pages of resources on a variety of topics - a virtual Christian encyclopedia. Make sure you particularly check out the links at www.AllAboutFollowingJesus.org!

We also recommend learning more about Jesus in the text and audio versions of the Bible. Check out the Book of John . Also, we have teaching, music, and online Bibles in our MP3 Player: http://www.allaboutgod.com/mp3-bible.htm.

A great tool for studying the Bible is the "Daily Jesus" study course at http://www.jesuscentral.com/learning/Courses/ Use this to grow in your knowledge of God's Word and love for Jesus every day.

Remember too, the forums are here too to help answer your questions and you can always send a message to us.

Hey everybody im very happy to be here. I asked for your prayers for guidance in finding JESUS. The more i read the more i want to know JESUS, but also the more down i get for not trusting in JESUS Like i should. I am very blessed but dont always feel blessed and this is the reason for my search for JESUS.

Praise the Lord!
I'm so glad Leslie you did make a commitment unto the Lord Jesus Christ. All who come to God through Jesus are accepted for He shed His holy blood to atone for our sin! Thank you Jesus!
Now you have personally come to the Lord develop your relationship with HIM and follow HIM for you are accountable to HIM!
To do this, do what the Bible says step by step and do not compare yourself with others. To know what baptism means and the reason we do it - read Romans 6 and other Scriptures covering that subject.
God sees your heart and He will guide you and lead you but it is important you check yourself and be careful to follow HIM! Whatever to hear check it out with the Word so you do what HE SAYS to you.
I was a teenager when I committed to the Lord but this was real. There were many that fell by the wayside, temptations, persecutions, trials but I thank God I ran to HIM and poured out my struggles to HIM and He keeps me till now by His power. All glory to His Holy Name!
I have made mistakes and I ran to HIM and HE has never failed to speak to me for He is alive and He is Lord of my life! I love HIM so much!
When you look around there is plenty to discourage, when you look within, you always become sin-conscious and feel insecure because you feel you are not good enough BUT all you need to do is LOOK UP to the only ONE WHO IS PERFECT and Who died for you! HE is able to keep you from falling and will meet you at the end of your life's journey!
Keep in touch & God bless you as you learn to follow HIM

Dear Leslie,

Maybe it is time to move into something a little different. Have you considered volunteering in your church? I don't know the denomination or the size of your church. You may already volunteer in certain areas. Giving in a different capacity can refresh and open new avenues for you. Could it be time for a change? It can challenge you and offer growth. What about teaching once a month at a women's or children's fellowship? Or come up with an art project for the children's fellowship in your church. Delivering and picking up books to the elderly can be rewarding. Does your church have a monthly bulletin? Read a Christian book or watch a Christian movie and write a short paragraph about it for the bulletin. I don't know what your talents or your interests, but God does. Just a suggestion, but how about offering up the prayer to God and see what kind of doors He opens for you. You'll know it in your heart when He opens a door.

God bless!

I didn't get baptized until I was in my forties ; I thought about (is this the time?)& when I did go forward it was the very last minute of the invitational song "Just as I Am"...I felt a nudge tthree times & on the third nudge I finally went forward...I pray & study my Bible & go to church ...but not as often as I did .That's what I'm looking for I don't see the same thing in church as I used to it doesn't feel right ,it's like they say they're studying for closeness to the Lord but their actions relay a different picture.I guess I'm seeing doubt & if I see it I may do the same, does this make sense to anyone?

Danielle, I am in the exact place in life that you are it sounds like. I was reading your post and it seemed like I wrote it myself. I too have always had faith in God. But within the last couple years, even more within the last 6 months I have wanted to grow closer to Him. I'm reading more of the Bible than I ever have and it really feels good to be growing closer to Him. Life seems to be easier to handle knowing He is by myside. Thank-You for sharing,it really was great to see it put into your words like that,to know someone is feeling so much the same as I:) Peace to You.
