Deception in the church

Deception in the church

It's here. What do we do about it? How do we recognize deception in our churches? Are we too afraid of exposing false teachers cos were afraid of judging? Jesus said there will be many false teachers and false prophets.

A Different Spirit

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"But My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it"
(Numbers 14:24, NAS)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

One time in Scripture, Moses sent twelve men to spy out the Promised Land. The people of Israel were camped right next door and excited about possessing the land. But after 40 days, ten of the men came back with a negative report. They said, "Moses, there are giants in the land, and we'll never defeat them." That negative report spread throughout the rest of the camp, and the people began to murmur and complain.

But one of the spies named Caleb said, "Moses, we are well able to defeat these people. Let us go up at once and take the land!"

It's interesting that they all saw the same land, the same circumstances, yet they had totally different views. How could their reports be so opposite? Here's how: Caleb had a different spirit. He saw things with a different perspective. Others were focused on the giants, but Caleb was focused on his God. The people who complained never actually made it into the Promised Land, but Caleb did. He accompanied a new generation that chose the blessing of God.

Today, choose to have a different spirit. Don't listen to what everyone else says, listen to what God says. Choose to believe His Word, and He will carry you into your promised land!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, today I choose to tune out the negative voices of the world. I choose to trust in You even when no one else will. I thank You for the good things You are doing in my life and trust that You will fulfill every promise You’ve made to me. In Jesus' Name. Amen. "

Growing in Faith

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God"
(Romans 10:17, NKJV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Did you know that your faith in God can grow and increase every single day? Notice today's scripture doesn't say, "Faith comes because you have heard the Word of God one time." No, it says that "faith comes by hearing"–in the present tense.

Sure, God's Word can transform us in an instant; but most of the time, we need to hear God's principles over and over again before they become active in our lives. God's truth sets us free and puts His plan for our lives into motion. As you study the Word of God, it chisels away at the doubt and unbelief that's been built up over the years. And, just as a seed needs water to grow daily; your spirit needs the Word of God daily. The more you hear God's promises, the more you know Him, and the more confidence you will have to believe His word.

I encourage you to choose a few verses to meditate on daily. Write them down and carry them in your purse or wallet. The more you hear the Word of God, the more your faith will grow, and you will move forward in the freedom and victory He has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father in heaven, thank You for Your Word that is living and active and growing in my life. I submit myself to You today. Teach me Your ways and give me insight into Your Word so that I may know You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Who Will See God?

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart…"
(Psalm 24:3-4, NKJV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Do you want to see more of God in your life? As believers in Jesus, the Bible says that He makes His home in us, but we have to do our part to develop our relationship with Him. We have to choose to submit our hearts to Him and allow Him to purify us on the inside. We have to constantly guard ourselves and not allow things to come in and contaminate us.

How do you guard your heart? By being selective about what you see and watch on TV. If you don't want to become like the people you see on TV, don't watch them! If you don’t want to end up like the people singing those songs on the radio, you shouldn't listen to them. If you don't want to end up like the people in the magazines, you shouldn't read them. What you give your attention to will shape your heart and character. Give your attention to the Word of God. Give your attention to worship. Open your heart to the Father and ask Him to purify you by His Holy Spirit. As you do, you will rise higher and higher into the abundant life He has for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Heavenly Father, I want to see You. Open the eyes of my heart. Purify me and cleanse my heart. Help me make the right choices so that I can honor You today and always. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Romans 8:31-34
NIV What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died-more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Think about this: you are so valuable to God that He sent His own Son to pay the price for your sins. You are VERY special to God!

We all face internal and external voices that speak negatively of our worth, but God made the final statement in Christ. Do you feel guilty? God comes to your aid.

Jesus took the wrath of God so we could have His favor. He is standing the gap for us today! God wants us to know this and live in the truth of it.

about false teachers....
I have been in churches a long time....over 40 years now...never seen the amount of false teaching as i have in the last 20 years or so.....

I'm not afraid to expose them for what they are....too often, the church has taken a passive toxic compliant stance....that is why we have the problems we do....and if you do not think we have areas of problems...then you are one of the deceived.
I have recently been writing my third book to be published....
This last one is alll about Belief Systems....the false teachings in the churches and belief systems that do not have solid biblical principles.
Other belief systems will be addressed too.....like the Reformation era...when those guys stood for the truth and were often burned in so doing.
There are other great men of God and women of God who have brought the truth into the Christian church...
many...today say they are from God....call themselves prophets and apostles and such....but BEWARE!
"Not everyone who calls Me Lord, knows Me" "they are workers of iniquity and will be cast away"...jesus says...

read:
Jeremiah 23:16-40----regarding false prophets saying they have a "word" from the Lord....or a "dream" from the Lord.

Ezekiel 13
Ezekiel 34----about a rebuke from the Lord to the Shepherds or pastors
Isaiah 30----ohhh rebellious children, you listen to everyone but ME,

Psalm 119:107-176---encouragement to follow the laws of God, like David did

you must know Gods word to recognize Deception in the church, you must also have a relationship with the Holy Spirit...I can not say it enough KNOW GODS WORD....Carol Ann made a lot of good points below....People to-day are fed up with all thats going on in churches, doing away with bible study?whats this, they dont want you to know the word,, also doing away with alter call,no time to spend alone with God...STAND UP, expose these false teachers ..if your pastor is not preaching the word of God get rid of him or find a church that does preach the truth..I wrote a brief titled " The Holy Spirit Has Left The Building " I will post it on my page in th next couple of days...and thats whats wrong with a lot of churches to-day..they will not allow the Holy Spirit in..ok I have ranted enough, I could write 20 more pages on this subject..God bless you all, get that bible out, wipe the dust off it and study Gods word
