Is it our responsibility to look for a lifepartner or does God have someone reserved for us already?

Yes, I believe that God will show us who we are to marry, but we do have to be somewhat active in looking for that person too. Sometimes he might lead us to someone and we'll think this is the one, but he just wants us to bring the person to him. I think it is okay to date nonchristians, in some circumstances the person might even be brought to Christ through it.
My brother started dating this girl when he was a senior in high school. She was a sophmore and had been a christian, but had gotten off track. My brother had gotten somewhat off track as well in the first three years they were dating (they dated a long time). In the last two years they were dating, they started going to church again, and they both renewed their lives with Christ. Now they are getting married. The date is set for June 26, 2010.
