Should do we decide who gets to come to the church.

I have seen and experienced a lot of this to different churches, big and small. Many church leaders believe they are just liabilities and additional burden in their congregations, forgetting the great commission of Jesus. Jesus himself showed during his earthly ministry how to treat people of all walks of life. He never became bias nor maltreated any person who comes to the Lord for repentance and salvation, rich, poor, sick, blind, unwise, smelly, old and young, etc... Comment by Sean Cameron Gunn on August 6, 2009 at 7:45am: yeah it is true - it seems as if sinners are no longer allowed to "come to the Church" anymore. I know that in my street evengelism, the majority of them have been "excommunicated" from the church because of the way they looked, ect, ect. It is a truly sad reflection on us as Christians. James says this,"If a man enters your church wearing an expensive suit, and a street person wearing rags comes in right after him, and you say to the man in the suit, "Sit here, sir; this is the best seat in the house!" and either ignore the street person or say, "Better sit here in the back row," haven't you segregated God's children and proved that you are judges who can't be trusted?" Its like that song from Todd Agnew says - "Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet might stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurting and despises the proud
I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd
And I know that He can hear me if I cry out loud.
In many churches today we have adopted the same "spirit" as those in Mark 2:16 but forget the words of the Lord in Matthew 21:31.
Just my thoughts on the "holier-than-thou" crowd.

Love to be part of this group. Currently I'm involved with a local ministry who caters to the homeless,poor,mentally/physically challenged. Why? Because our churches refer to them as "riffraff"!
