BUILDING A SURE FOUNDATION FOR CHRISTIAN GROWTH

You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free(John 8:32)

You have the truth revealed in the Bible which is the word of God

This is the foundation we build our Christian life upon.
Just like any building project we have to start with a foundation.
If we build our foundation upon the rock of truth we will not be moved
When we are assaulted by storms of doubt, and winds of persecution.
We won’t be moved because we have a foundation of truth.

It all starts with the truth concerning salvation Roman 8:8-13
8 Salvation that comes from trusting Christ--which is the message we preach--is already within easy reach. In fact, the Scriptures say, "The message is close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart."
9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
11 As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed.
12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They all have the same Lord, who generously gives his riches to all who ask for them.
13 For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

I hope that this group will be a place where you can discover truth so you can grow and mature in your new found faith and that you will be rooted and grounded in that truth.

If you have not been born again by the Spirit of God; I invite you to do so now. John 3:16 says that God loved the world so much that he gave his only son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins and for the sins of the whole world. Eph 2-8-10 Paul tells us that our good works won’t save us, we can never be good enough to be saved.
We are all sinners and we need a savior and I want to let you know that through trusting in Jesus and what He has done, you can be saved, spiritually born again, and become a part of Gods family.

Pray and ask God to forgive you and receive the gift of salvation provided for you. Invite Jesus into your life and give control of your life to the Holy Spirit. God is no respecter of persons and His word promises that whoever calls upon the Lord will be saved.

10As a skilled and experienced builder, I used the gift that God gave me to lay the foundation for that building. However, someone else is building on it.
Each person must be careful how he builds on it.
11 After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ.
12 People may build on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw.
13 The day will make what each one does clearly visible because fire will reveal it. That fire will determine what kind of work each person has done.
14 If what a person has built survives, he will receive a reward.
15 If his work is burned up, he will suffer the loss. However, he will be saved, though it will be like going through a fire.

This is a difficult scripture when we think about that we as Christians will be judged because how fashion or build our lives in Christ. Paul goes on to say that: People should think of us as servants of Christ and managers who are entrusted with God's mysteries. Managers are required to be trustworthy. 1 Cor.4:1-2.

If you go back and look at 1 Cor. 3:16 you will see why it is so important, It is because we are temples, (inhabitations, churches) of the Holy Spirit.

You could say it is the church who gathers in buildings each week, and not just people going to a place called church.

So we want to honor the Holy Spirit in our lives by the way we conduct our lives.
Just like any guest who would come to your own home, we need to make Him welcome. We do this by co-operating with Him; it is He who works in you to help you do the Father’s will

In John 14:26 Jesus said, However, the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you.

The Holy Spirit is working in our live to help us to become all God intended us to be. He is the master craftsman who is creating something wonderful out of our lives.
