AND REPENTANCE IS NOT JUST SOMETHING WE SAY W ARE REPENTANT THERE IS A SCRIPTURE RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION AND GRANT ME A WILLING SPIRIT TO SUSTAIN ME PSALM 51:12 JOEL 2:25 SO I WILL RESTORE TO YOU THE YEARS THAT THE SWARMING LOCUST THE CONSUMING LOCUST AND THE CHEWING LOCUST MY GREAT ARMY WHICH I SENT AMONG YOU... JOB42:10 AS WITH A BREAKING OF MY BONES MY ENEMIES REPROACH ME WHILE THEY SAY TO ME WHERE IS YOUR GOD? SEE THIS PROBLEM IS NOT A CHURCH PROBLEM A THEM PROBLEM OR THEY OR THOSE PEOPLE PROBLEM THE PROBLEM IS W ARE LEAVING GOD OUT AND HIS SON CHRIST SAID WE ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER THE BIGGER PERSON KNOWS IF THERE IS SUCH A THING AS A BIGGER PERSON WE ARE TO LOVE ARE PROBLEM IS NOT WHAT OTHERS THINK OF US IT IS WHAT WE THINK OF US AND IT IS WHAT WE THINK OF US WHICH IN REALITY IN THE SPIRITUAL REALM GETS US WHAT WE ALWAYS GET BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE ARE SOWING INTO SEE I SUPPOSE I WILL GET DIFFERENT RESULTS WHEN I DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT ..UNTIL THEN IF I REAP TO THE FLESH OF THE FLESH WILL I REAP AND I REAP TO THE SPIRIT OF THE SPIRIT WILL I REAP THERE IS A STORY ABOUT DRUG ADDICTION WE HAVE TO SEE EVERYTHING ABOUT DRUG ADDICTION AS A LIE AND ALL THE LIES IT AFFECTED WHAT I THINK ABOUT ME WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT ME IS A LIE TOO... SO I HAVE TO TELL MYSELF SOME TRUTHS HE LOVES ME HE REALLY LOVES ME HE LOVES ME HE LOVES YOU HE LOVES US AND HE WANTS TO LAVISH US WITH LOVE SO NMUCH IN FACT THAT NOTHING GIVES HIS EHART MORE JOY THAN TO KNOW THAT HIS CHILDREN ARE LOVING EACH OTHER NOONE HAS TO UNDERSTAND ME I HAVE TOO UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT I AM OFTEN WRONG ABOUT MYSELF AND EVEN OTHERS AND I HAVE TO BELIEVE WHAT GOD BELIEVES ABOUT ME AND WHAT HE WANTS ME TO BELIEVE ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE THAT HE LOVES US AND HE MEANS WHAT HE SAYS IN HIS BOOK THE B-I-B-L-E IT IS NOT FOR MAN TO DIRECT HIS OWN STEPS WE HAVE TO HAVE GODS HELP AND THE GREAT THING IS HE WANTS TO GIVE IT TO US ALL OF IT ALL HIS BENEFITS WITH A PROMISE OF EVRELASTING LIFE THAT WE MIGHT REJOICE IN TH JOY OF HIS ENDURING ST4ADAFST LOVE THAT WE MIGHT LOVE HIM IN PEACE LOVE HARMONY AND TRIUMPHANT VICTORY FOR WE HAVE AN ADVOCATE WHO SYMPATHIZES WITH US HE KNOWS WHEN IT IS TO BE DESPISED AND REJECTED AND WHEN WE SAY THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND REALLY IT IS US WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND FOR WE HAVE NOT INWARDLY CONCEIVED THE RICHES OF HIS MERCY AND GLORIOUS LOVE WE MUST OVERCOME FOR WE HAVE A INHERITANCE BEYOND ARE WILDEST DREAMS AND IMAGINATIONS HTERE IS APLAC WHERE THERE IS NO MORE SORROW NO MORE PAIN NO MORE ABUSE NO MORE CHILDREN DIEING NO MORE STARVING CHILDREN NO MORE GRIEF NO MORE I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT ANY OF YOU BUT THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME FOR THE WORD MAKE WAY FOR THE KING OF GLORY FOR HE IS COMING BACK AND WE MUST FORGIVE REPENT AND LOVE AS WE HAVE NEVER LOVED BEFORE OF SAYS WE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD NOR ARE WE TO BE OF THIS WORLD WE ARE TO OVERCOME FOR HIS WORD SAYS HE WHO OVERCOMES AND KEEPS MY WORKS UNTIL THE END, TO HIM WILL I GIVE POWER OVER THE NATIONS...

For every character flaw (sin) that God enables me to drop, I know that there must be an asset to develop. For example, if I was a using jerk, when I just abstain from using I become a clean jerk. Whenever God asks me to remove a certain sin from my life, He offers me a replacement i n order to renew my mind. Praise God for the process He gives!

John - thank you for bringing a word about your process. Platitudes frustrate me. Actual step by step directions are so helpful. I feel like many of our members here are trying to survive with just church people...but really, no one gets us except...well...us! Celebrate Recovery is a powerful community. Connecting with believers who rely on Jesus for their very lives makes a huge difference. This is not a "me" journey, its a "we" journey. May we all find our "people" and learn to live and love with freedom.

Ah yes, renewing our minds and creating a new heart. The way that I am trying to acomplish that, first I can not do it without God's help through Jesus and the Holy spirit. Where my past I saturated my life with all the negitives of this world, now I saturate my life with Prayer and the study of Gods word. I now saturate my life with all the positives I can use. I contnualy work the twelve steps and 8 principles of Celebrate Recovery. Do I do ths perfectly? No but I do forget what is behind and press on toward the prize wich is eternity with God.

Yes...unity and fellowship...so critical for every believers walk. But there is more to this than just not drinking or using. Its about transformation of our thinking, our motives, our purpose. This not always easy. How does transformation happen for you?
