Walking In The TRUTH, And Walking In DECIET... Which Path Are You Walking In?

Im currently in a church where the pastor preaches "salvation thru grace and faith in CHRIST". You know as a new believer walking in the truth God has revealed something to me. That even preachers misinterpret The Word. So here is my story and I HOPE AND PRAY IT REACHES SOME OF YOUR HEARTS to pay attention to The Word of God and not the lips of men. Here goes... My pastor preaches that once you have accepted Christ as your personal savior, your sins automatically are forgiven at that moment... (I believe that. Why because its in The Word)... But then he goes on to say, all your sins are forgiven from the moment you are BORN till the moment you DIE in that instant! Wow that sounds great so even if i sin after the moment I was saved Im going to heaven! How WONDERFUL I THOUGHT! Little did I know God had other ideas. For 2 nights after the message i could'nt sleep. Its as if my Spirit was calling out to me! I researched online, I read the Bible and i just COULD NOT find the part from when I am BORN to when I DIE my sins are "thrown away" per say. I prayed and prayed and hoped in my heart i had misunderstood the message which my pastor had said. I asked God "PLEASE LORD LET ME BE WRONG" yet still my Spirit was restless. Finally after doing my own research and reading The Word and yes, after speaking to other pastors and speaking to my father, the Lord brought me to 1John chapters 1-4. Praise Him for his Word is never decieving! Summarizing it up (but i advise every believer to read it!) the whole thing is about us. New or old believers walking in Christ. It tells us how not the pastor, but the Holy Spirit will guide us if to what the pastor is saying is from him or from the Lord. Finally after reading those very crucial chapters I approached the pastor after his service a week later. I said pastor where in the Bible does it say that 1 part that you say? After much stammering and studderring he explained to me that he couldnt exactly remember where but that he would get back to me. After 1 hour of him showing me passages that had nothing to do with our topic I asked him again drawing him back to the main issue. I said Pastor I was Saved in your church, i honestly with all my heart can testify to that. (Then I continued to say) Being I was Saved, if I right now killed your wife, your kids, your grandkids and then shot myself in the temple and died right next to your bodies would I still make it to heaven? Yes he replied because the bible says ALL YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN! Ok I say to the Pastor Ive read that in the Word too, But where Pastor does it say from when I am BORN till when I DIE I am automatically forgiven for every sin even after i am Saved? I believe every thing you have told me, I have seen it with my 2 eyes, but just that one part, the part you cant show me I cant Find! The part that my Spirit is keeping me up at night (Which of course is The Holy Spirit telling me this part is not Gods Word) Finally after much exhaustion he looks me in my eye and says " you wont find it, but i can only show you principles. Principles- a basic truth, law, or assumption (Dictionary) Praise the Lord for his Word that is True! Even till now, after i showed the Pastor this "error" he still preaches the same thing. ANd YES i still attend his church. Why? Because God showed me the Pastor serves him well, and his intentions weren"t to mislead others, he just being a MERE man misinterprets things, that HE BELIEVES the Bible is saying. You can go to many different churches,and find many diffrences and all the Pastors will tell you they are so right and read scriptures to back up there "principles. But Let me proudly say to you ALL, that the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of TRUTH will lead you into The Word of God, and not into the WORD of MAN! - Amen I say! So I ask if anyone reads this who truly believes in the Lord and not in the Words of men, pray right now that the Holy Spirit guides you and not the words and principles of a man. Amen again, and I pray Father that anyone who reads this that it touches their heart and you let them know that your Word is TRUE and only through the Holy Spirit can we understand such Words Of WISDOM! In JESUS name I pray AMEN!!! Feel free to Post to this Blog or email me @ SavedYouzer@aol.com

Greetings SavedYouser,

To get a better understanding of the topic your are talking on I encourage you to examine two things in Scripture. 1) Redemption: What it means to be redeemed and by what process are we redeemed through Jesus. 2) The office of High Priest that Jesus now holds in heaven and its affect on us as taught in the Book of Hebrews. Both of these will give you a better understanding of our covering in the blood of Jesus.

Lord Bless,
LT

Hi There Saved Youzer,

Praise God He is so good all the time. The Holy Spirit does lead us into all truth.

There is a great Casting Crowns song.....The Lyrics go like this:
'Jesus, you know just how far the east is from the west, I don't have to see the man I've been, rising up in me again, in the arms of your mercy I find rest, Jesus you know just how far the east is from the west, one scarred hand to the other....etc" Your post got me thinking about that!

anyhow, I found it in scripture.

Psa 103:7 He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.
Psa 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
Psa 103:10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
Psa 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knows our frame; [fn] he remembers that we are dust.
Psa 103:15 As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;
Psa 103:16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.

Vs 12 stands out.

East and West can never meet. God's forgiveness is great. He forgives and forgets. God has wiped our past clean. However, we are to model His forgiveness to others...so with this comes an enormous responsibility. When we forgive others we must also forget the sin, otherwise we have not truly forgiven.
(a bit off topic, but still related)

Col 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Luk 6:37 "Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share this.

It is important to question the teachings, and always study yourself....we all will learn alot as we do that. However, please pray for your pastor (I'm sure you already are). These teachers have such an enormous resopnsibility....be sure to encourage him by letting him know when he has preached an incredible sermon. Pastors need our prayers.

I also found this on www.gotquestions.org,
It may help clear up some misunderstandings.

Question: "Why do we need to confess our sins if they have already been forgiven (1 John 1:9)?"

Answer:
The Apostle Paul wrote, "We praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding (Ephesians 1:6-8, NLT). This is referring to salvation, where God has taken our sins and removed them from us “as far as the East is from the West” (Psalm 103:12). This is the judicial forgiveness that God gives us upon receiving His Son Jesus Christ. All the past, present, and future sins are forgiven on a judicial basis, meaning that we will not suffer eternal punishment for our sins. We still often suffer consequences of sin while we are here on earth, however, which brings us to the question.

The difference between this passage and the verse in 1 John is that John is dealing with what we call "familial" forgiveness—like that of a father and a son. For example, if you do something wrong to your father—fall short of his expectations or rules—you have a hindered fellowship, but you are still a son. That fellowship is hindered until you admit to your father that you have done wrong. It works the same way with God; your fellowship with Him is hindered until you confess that sin. Then the fellowship is restored. This is “relational” forgiveness.

“Positional” forgiveness is that which is obtained by every believer in Christ. In our position as members of the Body of Christ, we have been forgiven of every sin we have ever committed or ever will commit. The price paid by Christ on the cross has satisfied God’s wrath against sin, and no further sacrifice or payment is necessary. When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it. Our positional forgiveness was obtained then and there.

Confession of sin, according to 1 John 1:9, will help to keep us from the discipline of the Lord. If we fail to confess that sin, the discipline of the Lord is sure to come until we do confess it. As stated previously, our sins are forgiven at salvation (positional forgiveness), but our fellowship with God on a daily basis needs to stay in good standing, which cannot happen with unconfessed sin in our lives (relational forgiveness). Therefore, we need to confess our sins as they occur in order to keep that right fellowship with God.

God Bless,
Carla
