Pokemon, Bakugan! Where did they come from?

Hello Everyone!

My son has received some new toys for his birthday from his friends... My older son has also previously received some of them a couple years ago, but didn't seem to interested in it.

I don't know anything about it, I don't know where these toys have originated from or what they mean. Does anyone know where they came from? I want to have some solid information about it.

I feel discernment that my kids should not be playing with it...but is that coming from me or the Holy Spirit?

Hi Bev.. Thank you! This is very interesting indeed. Interestingly, we have just taken both of our boys out of Boy Scouts due to negative and bad influences.. Logan was in cubs and Josh was in Beavers.

I'm continuing to pray about this. I know that as I hand it over in prayer, God will continue to show me what He wants me to know.

I don't allow my girls to play with Pokemon, or read Harry Potter books. Both of my brother's children are raised very close with my two girls and they do not play with them either. My mother forbids both harry potter and Pokemon in her house. I have to admit, I read all of the Harry Potter books and the whole time I read them I did not feel right about them. They are full of witchcraft and sorcery. I always follow my first mind and things like this and chances are it probably was God pulling your coat tail about those toys.
I bought a game three years ago when I was pregnant called "world of war craft". It's a online game that a lot of people are into now. My co-workers talked me into buying it so I can play it online with them. I went and bought it and I tell you that game is pure evil. Some of the characters on there are imps, demons, devils, witches, warlocks, and shaman priest. I knew all that was of satan when I first started playing it. I bought it because I knew I would have some time on my hands on my maternity leave and I wanted something to occupy my time. I played it a couple of times, and I knew that it was not right. It wasn't long before I ended up uninstalling it off my system.
I say follow your heart, if you feel uneasy about it chances are you are right. I wouldn't let him play with the toys if it were me

Hi There Dee!

The things of this world are garbage...much of this garbage is geared towards our children. I don't allow Harry Potter! My kids are not into video games! We do have the Wii, but the games we own are non-spiritual...Wii sports.. we have a wii sims...which is a childrens version, and an underwater scuba diving game. They actually never really play any of it anyway.

I just want to know the history of the toys Pokemon and Bakugan. I believe that when I tell my kids they can't play with something, it is respectful to explain 'why'. I want them to fully understand why I don't agree with it, rather then saying 'because I said so'. I believe that if they fully understand my reasoning and logic, they will trust that I am making a decision based on fact, while knowing that not all things are good for them...and this might be one of those things. They also need to make their own choices...but it is my job to inform them why I do or don't agree with it. They both Love our LORD. Jesus means everything to them. I need to also be wise and discerning, that if I take a toy away from them...they will not misinterpret and feel that I am trying to just take their fun away....That is a recipe for rebellion.

Thank you for suggestions. I do feel that they should not be playing with it....but I can't go purely on feelings and act rashly. My choices...all of them, must have a secure reasoning behind them.
