I myself don't listen to that stuff because of the lyrics. Not all, but alot are not good.

Have a listen to the lyrics, and ask yourself this, Would God want me listening to this?

To answer your question, yes I believe it is sin. I base this on the lyrics and the music videos.

It is interesting because the worship pastor in our church just gave a message on this last Sunday. He believe the Lord gave him a matrix to help sort out music and media choices. Every kind of media or music can fall into one of four categories.

1. Direct Worship / Redemptive: These are hymns or worship music that directly praise God.
2. Indirect Worship / Redemptive: These are songs speak about our Christian experience and promote the fruit of the Spirit.
3. Non-worship / Redemptive: Music or media (whether written by Christians or non-Christians) that talk about the good things in the human experience, that uplift and promote the following: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
4. Non-worship / Non-redemptive: Music or media that promotes or glories in the sinful things listed in Galatians 5:19-21.

As Christians, we have freedom in Christ to enjoy the first three types of music or media regardless of genre. But we are to avoid #4.

You can't please two Gods so if something does not glorify God then I believe that it is of the devil. I listened to hip hop for a couple of years up to a point that I practically couldn't live without the music. Then my friend encouraged us to watch a video series that Pastor G. Craig Lewis made about Hip Hop ( if you want to watch them search for Demons in Hip Hop on youtube and/or look for 'The Industry' by theindustryexposed on youtube also) and ever since I watched these videos I just couldn't listen to that type of music because the Spirit of God always warns me when I get tempted to listen to it.

All the artists (well probably 95%) are involved with satanism and I've written found a quote of what one of them said about the industry-

"Russian Roulette= Suicidal Rate gon sky rocket! You gotta watch what you say because there are a lot of weak people in the world. The stars who worship satan,and those who have killed to get the respect they have now. You’d be verrrry surprised.
Some of your favorite people pretend to worship God but they only do that to save face. Or seem innocent. Satan was head of music in heaven. He uses influential people…to help influence the world. Think about that. Once you make a certain amount of money. Just know that that’s when they ask you to join. To get in you have accept the beast, worship. There are alot of satanic, abominable things that take place in the industry. From people selling their souls to people taking part in blood rituals to gain fame. Music has the biggest influence on humans because it can affect our emotions and our behavior. Even though songs may seem innocent and light hearted, when you play them backwards you may get a different story. Backmasking is used in music (which was invented by Aleister Crowley, a sick minded satanist who claimed to have seen the satanic god horus in person) and it's used to control people emotions and behaviour and when I first heard about this, I thought people were crazy and they were plain 'haters'. But after a while I realised how angry, arrogant, short tempered I got when I listened to that music which made me stop because I realized that music was the main thing that was stopping me from knowing God.

I also read or watched an article/ video where an artist who was involved in the music industry said that they had a room in their recording studio where there is a pentagram in the middle of the room and they used this room to channel evil sprirts to ensure that a spirit would be upon every single album bought.

I know this is quite random but I believe the same applies for the Twilight books. Stephanie Meyer, the writer, claimed that the main character from the book came into her dreams and told her what to write and she claimed that this was a terrying experience ( well she wrote something along those lines). The books are not good but somehow I managed to get so sucked into the book, I would spend all my time reading it and it replaced the bible for me. It felt like a demon was tormenting or smothering my heart and everytime I tried to pray or do anything else besides reading the book (Twilight), I could only think of that main character and I prayed and prayed and then eventually the feeling faded away but I cannot stand seeing the site of the books or the movies because that feelings comes back again. This is similar to what musicians do. A spirit possesses them and speaks it's word through the artist which is also similar to what Jay Z did with his song called Lucifer. He made the song and some of the stuff in the song were written in the bible but Jay Z claimed that he had no idea how he came up with the song even though he had never read the bible before.

Praise GOD ! Yes i have a lot of G. Craige Lewis messages about the hip hop music and messages . Look on youtube about John Todd and a woman name Svali . You will see a lot of hidden agendas by the enemy and how they curse the music before it went out to the public and you will see how blind majority are being led to the slaughter, so we have to be in intercessary prayer for body of Christ and the lost.
