how does new technology affects the relationships between God and human beings? does new technology bridges the gap or is it the hindrance of building the relationship to God?

Hello Fremie,
I think, used properly and for God's glory, technology, such as the internet does much to further the kingdom in the way of access to the bible for those who may not have access otherwise; there are sites such as this one that can be utilized to fellowship and find information; awesome information I might add, that encourage and guide people in their walk and relationship with Christ. Much information is available on the internet in regards to Christianity.
On the other hand, used improperly or as a replacement for daily worship or communion with God would be a hindrance and not a help. If we are spending time on the internet, not in the aforementioned manner, then we are taking away from our time with God and the internet or computer has become a "graven image" so to speak.
There is positive and negative.....is all in how we use it.
Not only these kind of sites are available in regards to Christianity.
There are sites about Wicca, wizardry, magic, witches, different religions, dangerous information.
Those are now much better available than without the technology.
But, I think, thanks to the technology, it is now more difficult to misplace religions. I mean, like in the Midle Ages, katholicism was full of wrong believes... what's the word... believing in things such as a black cat, mirrors scattered, walking under a ladder...
Sometimes I wish I was in the time of the beginning of the great philospohers such as Socrates, Plato ... but on the other hand, it's already difficult to explain our religion to others with all these technological stuff.... can you imagine what it was in the early days?
I want to apologize for my English, I'm Dutch you see. ;)
It is by Grace to God that we are using a high technology, To God be the glory. Tita Bev is right! We use this technology to give glory in the name of our living God and always seeking His will for us, because He wants us to spread His gospel so that all people who are weak will be strengthen and will bring back into the throne of God; and so that they will know what is the truth which revealed by Jesus Christ.
Use this technology in properly and abiding in His amazing love for us. We thank God for this wonderful grace that He has given us for the opportunity to speak with you all through this technology which is God's will.
I think the new technology offers wonderful opportunities for sharing faith and finding Christian friends - it is amazing that in the brief time I have been a member of this site so many good people have contacted me.
Yes, nearly anything can be used for bad purposes but when measured against the potential and actual good the internet brings us I think its dark side can be tolerated - and with Christ's help we can shine a light into the darkest corners of the virtual world.
For me, the internet is a helpful tool to use in my relationship with God. There are dangerous sites, as Alfie notes, but us humans always manage to do bad as well as good - thankfully we have a forgiving and merciful God to help us.
