All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

My name is yolanda and I want to know why atheist don't believe in God Atheist believe that we share a common ancestor with chimpanzees Because Dna proved it was almost the same.As ours That bothers me because I believe that the world did not created it self.I don't believe in evolution but they keep trying to feed us this junk to our children in school .Atheist people think that christians are crazy for believing in a God.Our cells in our body work like a factor carrying and building thing that's scientist are amazed how it works so perfect sending message to each other. In order for this information to be perform it had to have had an informer and that informer is God but Atheist people don't believe that they think it's just luck. The way the earth moves they way its position it perfect. It's not luck that's the creator

I just wanted to respond to the old DNA homology argument in terms of chimpanzees and modern day humans. This argument fails on multiple accounts.

Firstly, one is erroneously assuming that common descent is the only explanation for the homology in living organisms when there are other hypothesises which are justified. It is at least an equally feasible alternative, from a superficial glance of the data, to postulate that there exists similarities in living things because we share a common designer. To find which is the better alternative, we must analyse the evidence in more depth.

Let me give you a few reasons why the common design hypothesis is the best and indeed the only explanation for the homology data for living organisms.

Clearly, in the common ancestor, there would have been just one organ, with the current homologues being modifications of it. So if the evolutionary explanation for the homology is correct, then derivation from a common ancestral organ should be reflected in the homologous organs of the organ in the common ancestor.

Thus, in order to show that evolution explains homology and – reciprocally – for homology to be evidence for evolution, it is necessary to demonstrate that there is a viable route by which today’s homologues could have arisen from a common predecessor. Most obviously this implies a common embryological source, and secondly the use of comparable developmental processes. The problem is, as more and more research with regard to embryological development has been uncovered, there are many cases which do not conform with these predictions. Most damning perhaps to the conventional evolutionary scenario is the fact that some apparently homologous adult structures do not arise from comparable embryological sources.

A similar conclusion is indicated where homologous structures, even if derived from a comparable source, arise by substantially different developmental routes. There are different embryological processes and different genetic mechanisms to apparently homologous organs. And not only are there non-homologous processes to homologous organs, but there is the conundrum of homologous genetic mechanisms for analogous organisms.

One quick example: Evolutionists often claim that the similarities in the limbs of mammals, reptiles and frogs are evidence of common descent. But the frog embryo develops its legs in a different manner from us. Amphibian digits develop by bud growth outwards, while those of reptile, bird and mammal digs are formed as parts of a bone plate are dissolved in between. And yet they arrive at a similar pattern, indicating the hand of a common designer rather than common descent.

Secondly, we understand that DNA contains much of the information necessary for the development of a given organism. If two organisms share similar characteristics, we would expect there to be a certain degree of similarity in their DNA. Because humans and apes have a lot of morphological similarities, we would expect there to be similarities in their DNA. Certain biochemical capacities are indeed similar to all living organisms – there is even a certain degree of homology between human and yeast DNA. Because humans cells perform many of the same functions that yeast cells do, there are corresponding similarities in the particular DNA sequences that code for the enzymes that perform those functions.

Moreover, the amount of information encoded in the 3 billion base pairs in the DNA in every human cell has been estimated to be approximately equivalent to that in 1000 encyclopaedias. A 2-4% difference still amounts to over 120 million base pairs, and this is assuredly an impossible barrier for mutations to cross. Taking two sentences by means of analogy:-
1. God is now here.
2. God is nowhere.

The above two sentences have 98% homology and yet are 100% different in meaning. The DNA similarity data certainly does not imply common descent.

Best wishes,

JM

Jonathan, your answer is excellent. I especially like the profound analogy of the two similar sentences. The point there is well taken.

While watching a news program about a year ago, there was a small segment which stated that the dna of a neanderthal man had been tested and found to have no link to human beings. I've never heard anything further about this and feel the information has been suppressed by the scientific community which by and large embraces evolution.

Ask your atheist this....if we came from monkeys then why are there still monkeys?

Reply to This

No atheist is claiming that we came from monkeys. They are claiming that monkeys and humans share a common ancestor.

The message of the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed, but it is God power to us who are being saved.

Dear Tom..

Thank you for this response... as Charles said 'It is indeed articulate and descriptive,'
To read this gives me hope for my husband who claims an athiest belief, and God has confirmed that in my prayer time...He Lovingly and continually answers me "If only he will turn to Me"... God is faithful!

Blessings, Carla

Hi Yolanda,

The evil one will do anything he can to separate us from God. I suspect that Satan will fill a persons mind with all kinds of junk thinking and the person at that point will either accept the thoughts or reject them. It is a choice. Man can not prove the existence of God because it is a faith issue. Those who believe in God have faith and those who do not have faith do not believe in God. This is my opinion. It all comes down to whether a person will allow themselves to be deceived or not. Endless Blessings - Dennis

Hi Yolanda, it's true not everyone believes. We are blessed to believe because only the Holy Spirit can convict us of the truth. As for evolution and science - I know that God is the 'boss' of science and I would prefer to believe the Word of God concerning creation rather than the frequently erroneous words of scientists. We need to get down on our knees and thank our mighty God for drawing us to Him and the truth. God Bless. Damask

Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Hebrews 10:22-24 (in Context) Hebrews 10 (Whole Chapter)

2 Corinthians 11:3-5 (King James Version)
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

hold fast to the Word of God, the Gospel of Salvation, hold fast to Jesus Christ Lord of Lords and King of Kings
