All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Replies to This Discussion

I really like the simple way you put it, yes we are all sinners, but because we have believed that that Jesus sacrifice paid the price for our sin, then we as sinners will not go to hell. Then we develop a relationship with Jesus by living a life in closeness to Him.
It is a life time relationship.
Some People might think; oh I will live the way I want and then before I die then I will accept Jesus. This is not faith receiving Jesus as your savior and redeemer. You have no way of knowing that you will be given the chance to do this.
Today is the day of salvation, if you do not know Jesus and you are reading this, it might be your last chance, you do not know if this is the day you might stand in judgment.
It is appointed unto man once to die and then judgment. It is like a balloon payment on a mortgage that becomes due at death. The only payment that is acceptable for our sin mortgage is the blood if Jesus, any thing else is like play money and worthless, such as good works, being a nice person, going to church, and even reading the Bible.

Hi Bob,
We need to study the book of Acts to find out what to do to be saved.. I don't find any example of any one being saved by just saying they accept Christ into their heart, No one here quotes from the book of Acts, Why?

Hi Diana!i just want to share with you a passage w/c i believe is the greatest text in the Bible. Perhaps this passage is familiar with you! For God so Loved the World that He Gave his Only Begotten Son, that Whoever Believes in Him, should not Perish, But Have Everlasting Life (John 3:16). Now, let me break down this passage for you to make it more clear ( I hope ).
For God - who is this God? He is the greatest lover ever exist on earth.
So Love - the love that God gave is the greatest degree that mankind ever received from anyone. Why? becoz though he hate sins, he love the sinners and that includes you and me. perhaps we can love someone so kind and good but never an unlovable person, a sinner.
The World - when we talk of world it means mankind/people and that includes you and me. though we are not lovable, God still shows his imeasurable love by loving us as if we are so lovable. How?
That He gave -this is the greatest act of God in showing his imeasurable love, by sacrificing and giving something to humanity that is so dear to him. What is this?
His Only Begotten Son - this is the greatest gift that God gave humanity, though so dear to him, yet he sacrificed him to show how much he really love and care us/ the world. And look what God offers.
That Whoever believes - look at God's simplest calling to humanity? Whoever, means anyone. there is no standard nor you don't need any bio data to impress God of your achievements. In fact even you are the least to all people in the society you are still qualified. But to whom you should/must believe?
In Him - Jesus Christ, God's only Begotten Son, the greatest person ever live on earth. Once you believe in him and accept him in your heart as your Lord ans savior there is a great promise from him. what is that promise?
Should Not Perish - this is the greatest promise of God to anyone who believe in his son.
Look T this 3 letter words - BUT - it signifies a great difference. and the next word give us the greatest certainty of God's promise w/c is - HAVE - what is this certainty? it is the greatest possession that anyone believes in his only son...... EVERLASTING LIFE with Him in heaven!
God bless you!!! In Christ, George

This brings me to my 2 most favorite verses EVER:

Romans 8:38-39

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing in this world or any other can separate us from the love of Christ. No matter how much sin is in our life, Christ is bigger than it all and has already paid the debt for it. All we have to do is acknowledge we are sinners, turn from the sin and do our best to walk with Christ daily.

That is poetry!; I must put this on the wall; it is so true. <+>

ColinHenson I believe what you say that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ and that we are secure in our salvation. But I fear that some one can misunderstand your statement,"No matter how much sin is in our life."

In 1John 3:9 it says, No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 John 5:18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

Ephesians 2:2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

There must be a changed life that is produced from our salvation experience. We are no longer under sins dominion. Yes we as Christians sin, but our union with Christ and the Holy Spirit will not allow us to continue in sin.

The scripture warns that there will be those who think they are Christians, but are not. We as true believer hate sin in our lives and will find deliverance because it is not in our hearts to continue in sin any longer. This is the condition of a heart that has been born again.

I have met those who call themselves Christians and try to get away with as much as they can, they excuse themselves, they make light of sin. They say their good deeds out weigh their bad, therefore God must except them.

Being a true Christian is to be a holy person, which means to be set apart for a special purpose.
We carry the Holy Spirit in our hearts. We are like a Church building. There are things you would never think or do in a church, that is why we must come out and set our selves apart and live holy lives

Hi Diana and all,

The message of the Gospel can essentially be summarised by three verses in the fifth chapter of Paul’s epistle to the Romans (verses 6-8) – “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” A true appreciation for the principle of salvation through grace alone can only be gleaned by a prior understanding of both the depravity of man and the holiness and character of God. The Bible makes it emphatically clear that we were sinners – God’s enemies. Yet God’s love toward us is demonstrated in that while we were still in this state, Christ died for us.

The Christian understanding in regard to the nature of God is that He is Holy (without defect and free from sin) and that He cannot operate out-with His own character. And His Holy character demands perfect Justice.

This is what separates Christianity from all the other religions and worldviews; for manmade philosophies do not fully understand the character of God’s justice. One question people from other faiths often ask is why the Cross was necessary in order for God to forgive our sins. The question which arises is thus: Why does the Son of God – God in the flesh – need to be crucified in order for the atonement to be possible? Why doesn’t God – being omnipotent – just forgive everybody? After all, surely part of our calling is to forgive those to transgress against us. The answer can be located in Proverbs 17:15 wherein we read that “He who justifies the wicked [is] an abomination to the Lord.”

And what is the definition of justification? God declared sinners to be right before Him; yet the dilemma here, of course, is that anyone who declares the wicked to be righteous makes himself abomination. Logically, God cannot freely acquit the guilty, lest He make Himself an abomination. In a similar way, a Judge who forgives and acquits the guilty criminal is no longer a Just judge; he has become corrupt.

And so upon an understanding of the Holy, Righteous character of God which demands satisfaction of Justice, we can reason why it became necessary for God the Son to die on a cross - God cannot simply forgive, because the Holy and righteous law demands that a sinner die, and if God simply overlooks a man's sin, He has become unjust and thus sinful Himself. In such a case, He is no better than the devil and the devil's accusations against Him become valid. The only way, therefore, that God can forgive sinful people, is if God who penned the Law in the first place; the God who demands satisfaction, comes down from Heaven and pays the penalty in full.

There is therefore nothing man can do on His own merit to justify Himself. So how can one be saved? Simply by crying out to God to receive His mercy on the basis of the merit of Christ’s atoning sacrifice, and repent (apologizing to God and forsaking your sins) and God will give you eternal life, not because you earned it, but at the expense of Christ – the Lamb of God.

What will be your defence on the day of judgement? What will you say when God asks you why you should be allowed into Heaven? I know that the only answer which I can honestly give is that I am trusting in the virtue of another – the God-man Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 2:8-9 declares, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, is the gift of God –not by works, so that no-one can boast.”

I truly like what youve said. Well put Jonathan!; There is so much to learn in the Bible; It could take days @ best to try and condense what Gods true meaning for us to learn and incorporate into our lives is and to barely scratch the surface of His purpose for us. I am no scholar; but in my humble understanding of justification/and judgeing which is His alone;Ive come to the conclusion that we are to be purified, before we can come into His presence to be judged.I dont want to go into detail of my understanding. But repentance, purification, judgement, and everlasting life or death. THank you and the many others who help to guide us in the right direction.------;--;{(@ <+++>

All sinners will go to hell, except for those who repented.

God Bless You.

Dear Fellow Sinners,
I know its very, very hard for us being of the flesh to truly understand unconditional love as God has for us. So that even when our sins are too much for us to understand how someone (let alone a perfect God) could say to us "its ok your forgiven child", no matter how many times you have sinned even when you think yours is bigger then the sins of others, its not, all sins are equal in the eyes of the Lord".
But if you repent of them in Jesus name JOHN 14:13 “And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. JOHN 14:14“if you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it”. Here we have clear truth in Jesus words that if we ask anything in his name it will be given to us he does not give conditions to what we must do or ask for to achieve this, he simply says ask anything in his name and he WILL do it.
LUKE 15:7 “I say unto you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more then over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance”.
All these passages saved me every time I thought I would never be able to have God’s forgiveness most times its truly that we are not forgiving ourselves the Devil is constantly in our ear saying “God will never forgive you for that” but that’s a lie from the Father of Lies. God is love and he delights in forgiveness and only asks that we have faith in Jesus and repent by faith we must say “I KNOW JESUS IS STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE ALL MY SINS” when we don’t truly put all our faith in Jesus we say to our selves Jesus is not strong enough to bear all my dirty sins, once again this is a lie from Satan to hold back your faith.
Jesus is sooo strong that he can take the sins of the World, and all he asks is for us to REPENT and love the Father. This prayer may help some but it’s not for everyone cause everyone has had a different path lead them to the Lord but this is what I used:-
“Heavenly Father I know I don’t deserve it but please Father in the name of Jesus forgive me my sins, please come into my life and give me a new heart and make me whole again, replace all I have given up, and all that Satan has taken from me, so that I may be worthy of your love, in Jesus name Amen”.
Now every time Satan says to you, “there is no way God (who is pure love by the way) could forgive you for that”, you simply say “I have been forgiven for that sin and I remind you, that you ARE defeated by the power of the Cross” no matter how many times he brings it up simply say it again “I have been forgive for that sin and I remind you, that you ARE defeated by the power of the Cross”.
Jesus didn’t die for the righteous, he died for us SINNERS!!
(sorry really felt like I needed to make that clear wasn’t yelling really)

Can someone refer me to scripture that talks about those that have never heard the word of God not going to Hell. E.g. Native Americans who never heard the Gospel and died
